Dead internet theory isn't even a conspiracy at this point, most people are becoming increasingly aware at how much worse it's getting.
My guess it will eventually get so bad that the internet becomes completely uninhabitable and you will practically have mandatory registration with either phone or some other type of digital ID on everything. Countries found to abuse their phone numbers for bots at a large scale would probably be blocked off from interacting with any site if they don't get rid of the bot activity.

I mean fuck, I'm using a captcha solver myself, it would be piss easy and cheap to buy 1000 residential hacked IoT devices used as proxies and use something like pupetteer and GPT to spam any thread with certain keywords until people just stop talking about it because it's too annoying. The internet is completely fucked. I don't think PoW to post is gonna solve anything long term either since you can use compromised devices for that too.

Totally agree on this leading to digital IDs and total oversight and control over the net.
It was obvious when they started allowing all those bots posts about investments and telegram scams on finance related TY channels.
If you're at all into piracy, or if you value material that "the system" wouldn't approve of, I'd start creating offline backups while things are still, relatively free. Who knows how tight the noose will be in a few years time.
