ETH/USD is the only thing on version 0.1. Why can't the lazy team add BTC/USD or LINK/USD to the staking contract? It is virtually effortless and a no brainer. Elon Musk said in his interview yesterday, you can't create leaders and focus working from home, and I think Chainlink is the best example of this. The work from home shit has prevented so much progress with this project. I still don't have any BUILD tokens in my wallet, and unlocks aren't until late 2023. Laziest team in crypto

So you're starting to teeter into solution in search of a problem. If these services don't require "superlinear staking" or even a security mechanism like staking, why will they need to be in the future? Why isn't VRF or Proof of Reserves secured by staking?

Why is the ETH/USD feed needing staking security, but not BTC/USD or USDT/USD?

>> No.54999294

>>54999272
Because Eth/USD is used the most and therefore secures the most value. Ergo it is the most likely attack target.

You all make us look bad

Take a look at https://data.chain.link/popular why is ETH/USD the only one needing staking security? There are tons of feeds. This team is incredibly lazy and lacking any sort of direction

Are you retarded? From day one they explicitly said that the first v0.1 version will be just the ETH/USD price feed and that they will expand with more feeds in following versions.
You must be quite a moron to expect sudden out of nowhere additional price feeds to be added in the same v0.1 version lmao

Listen, I’m also pissed off… but the whole point of v0.1 is to test the contract and system for long enough to make sure it’s stable enough to launch more feeds. I am sure once we hit the next phase of development they will start adding feeds more quickly

I don't want to argue with you, I can't really begin to understand if the amount of proposed testing time (9-12 months) is too much or not... but let's at least recall they are securing $50B+ in locked value. If something shits the bed there is a massive price to pay. Not only does it mean Chainlink likely goes to fucking $0 and loses the majority if not all of its customers, but the rest of the industry gets a major hit as well and sets all of crypto back probably years.

They are carrying one hell of a weight on their shoulders. Literally the entirety of value in this space rests on Chainlinks ability to not fuck up.

>> No.55002713

>>54999193
It's just a closed beta version of staking hence version 0.1, that's the reason they aren't adding more feeds.
When staking is eventually fully implemented everything that uses LINK will be integrated into the staking system, at the moment this is limited to just a couple of dozen price feeds for ETH.
The current situation in staking doesn't represent the entire LINK network.

CCIP is running through SWIFT before it goes through anywhere else so the team is focused on that, when that situation is finalised who can say? It most likely has a lot to do with the speed that SWIFT moves at which is likely to be very slow. It isn't the kind of thing they want to fuck up.
