SNS-1 is owned by the ICP community. SNS-1 is a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) built on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP). It's designed to demonstrate how DAOs can be created and managed on ICP and was given as a "blank canvas" to the community.

SNS-1 can be considered the first Web3 DAO in the history of this planet (earth).
It is the first DAO that runs fully on-chain (frontend to backend hosted on the Internet Computer blockchain). This means decisions can be made and executed directly on the blockchain.

SNS-1 are DAO governance tokens needed to vote or propose on changes in the DAO (e.g., building a new dapp, or giving staking rewards to holders, etc.)
Originally there were 10000 SNS-1 tokens. Today there are 9998 SNS-1 tokens. Every SNS-1 transaction burns tokens forever, every failed DAO proposal burns tokens forever.

It really depends on the development team and if they continue to simplify for users to deploy projects. Although the biggest downfall of this project is that it was never PoW.

What many people do not understand is that BNB and Solana have / had a foundation backed by exchanges. Regardless of the blockchain itself, being backed by an exchange is huge in terms of on boarding users and financial stability/liquidity, this is why PoS was used as a way to fast track.

However as we saw FTX was a fraud exchange, however Solana being a PoS shitcoin still went parabolic because of it's backing.

Had BNB and Solana been designed as PoW, the coins would have a greater value, however this process would have been many times slower to develop.

ICP really should have been a proof of work and Dfinity should have launched an Decentralized exchange that sends it's fees to the development team and liquidity.

Instead Dfinity decided to dump on it's investors, which now they have an obligation to succeed, however this may work... it may not. A CEX or DEX yields superior form of revenue compared to the quick pump and dump ICO scheme.
