Because muh capped upside and it's not Le heckin real hedging strategy... As if my blackrock jew was doing anythung but buy and hold and rape me of 1% each month in management fees. Serious question, what is the point in tax loss harvesting when you don't need the loss? Why not just keep it as additional cost basis by not selling so your gain will be smaller later? Isn't that the same thing? Other than when you sell the bottom and then the market rebound a little bit the untrained goyim will look at their account and see green instead of red, not realizing their cost basis (principal) has been chopped down. Tax loss harvesting results in same amount of shares does it not? If I had other gains to offset that's one thing, but to just preemptively give me a multiple six figure capital loss carryforward is absurd to me. Someone tell me why I'm an idiot please.

>As was the case during the summer surge, the newly diagnosed individuals are gay or bisexual men. Of note, nine (69%) were fully vaccinated. All cases were mild, and none required treatment, suggesting that the vaccine prevents severe illness even if it’s not fully protective against infection.

>According to the CDC, less than a quarter of people at risk are fully vaccinated and just 37% have received one dose.

>“We urge sexually active members of our community to receive the mpox vaccine. For example, unvaccinated people planning to attend International Mr. Leather at the end of May should receive their first dose of the mpox vaccination as soon as possible,”

FDIC covers the deposit losses. FDIC is currently funded by premiums bank pay already. So if one bank fucks up, they all have to fork over the cash. Regarding unrealized losses: FDIC negiotates forced sales with the goal of reducing the total cost to the FDIC. JPM were given a steal able to pillage FRC's bond portfolio for cheap because they were given the greenlight and they offered to do it at the cheapest price to the FDIC.

Once again, /pol/ schizos flagged something that, after cursory digging, turned out to be a nothingburger. The program was not something like "treasury prints $500 billion out of thin air, buys 1 month t-bills until the yield goes back down".

See the Buybacks section of the announcement: https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy1460

So not until next year and even then they'd only do shit like swap 9.5 year bonds for 10 year ones.

I'm talking about the deposits above $250k. Somebody with power is telling these rich guys their money is safe and not to withdraw. The deposits are being guaranteed beyond the legal limits. So the FDIC is going above and beyond right now? Why even pretend to call these various entities non governmental organizations, isn't that just larp at this point? It's all just big govt.

Biden gave the blessing to create the one true bank over the corpses of regionals and PACW survived the weekend. Heres a quick quote from some egghead to take with a grain of salt:
"Even the cost for larger banks won’t be significant, wrote Raymond James bank analysts Friday. Assuming a 35% tax rate, banks covered by the broker would see a hit equaling 5% to 8% of their 2023 earnings per share. Regulatory capital at the banks would shrink by a few hundredths of a percent, at most.

The biggest 2023 earnings hits among big banks, Raymond James figures, would be at State Street STT +2.19% (STT) and Citigroup C +1.32% (C), but those would only amount to 8.6% and 8%, respectively. Among regional banks, BankUnited BKU +7.69% (BKU) and UMB Financial (UMBF) could see 2023 earnings nicks of 10% and 8.5%, the analysts predicted.

And what about those regionals battered in the past months’ stock volatility? Western Alliance Bancorporation WAL +11.98% (WAL) would pay assessments totaling $65 million, the analysts estimate. That amounts to 5% of consensus forecasts for 2023 earnings, and just 0.06% of the Phoenix bank’s regulatory capital.

PacWest’s assessment would be all of $32 million. That’s 2% of the 2023 loss forecast by Wall Street, and 0.05% of its regulatory capital."
Now, the losses the banks take on.. Those aren't in their asset portfolio. It will set the equity on fire so there should be some knock on effects to their share price aside from Yellen saying to raid some banks and the big boys will pay for it.

They invoked a systemic risk exemption to the $250k limit (that was added in Dodd-Frank I think?).

Basically the FDIC's whole schtick is reducing cost to the taxpayer. And if they autistically stick to the $250k limit for Bank A such that rich people pulling their money from Banks B, C, D, E... cause *those* banks to need deposit insurance payouts, we're better off just insuring everything for Bank A. our KY gov apparently is removing property taxes from bourbon warehouses like a bunch or retards, so now these facilities do nothing but spread mold all over the communities and nobody wants them in spite of the industry trying to aggressively expand.

I still think bud light is worse, but just barely. All "light/lite" beer fucking sucks. Pic rel at the trader joes is somehow better than that shit. The only domestic I drink is pabst.

Why do you keep saying this. The longer things drag on the more liquidity thats drained from the market. The only thing keeping indices (fagman) afloat is passive buying from salary goys into their 401k and they are the exit liquidity. Gov spending and other construction will keep inflation sticky and job losses low while the real economy takes a nose dive from credit crunch. That's when shit dumps like in 2008 after a bunch of systematic hits. Just look at the graph of the 08 crash, we were already headed down before shtf. That's where we are now, at the top about the ride down before a collapse in q3
