Actually no. Very little liberalism in Bakersfield. It's only 4 hours away from literally everything. Las Vegas. Sandl Diego. Beaches. Snow mountains etc . Very easy to dominate this place with a successful business.

All very walkable. College towns in the midwest are also pretty nice even for someone that's already graduated. The only downside is winter.

I live in Chicago and didn't have a car here until this past year. And if you just need a condo housing here is relatively affordable even in the nicer areas.
