Redpill me on leasing a car. Is it a financial smart decision? I could buy a car outright with, but that means less capital for the upcoming BTC dipperino. Buying a used car right now is a wasteland. I don't need a car for work. I just need it to get around here and there.

If you can’t afford to buy a newer vehicle, yes.
Understand what you’re getting into, and specifically how many miles you’ll drive a year.
That’s where they fuck you, I’d you go over or have any damage to the vehicle when you turn in.
If you can calculate that, and don’t do any down pyment(roll it into your monthly) it can be a good deal to drive a car you don’t have to worry about maintenance for.

Leasing a car is basically a boomer version of you will own nothing and be happy. You're basically paying the dealership for the depreciation of the car. The only exception to this is if you have a job that allows you to lease certain vehicles for a very low price for work. People leasing new cars every few years are just burning money, which isn't actually the worst thing possible, if you have the money and don't mind paying a premium for all the cons of owning a car.

It's worth it if you need the expense without the depreciation in your company structure.

For regular people. NAH

leasing is actually pretty good. I say this as a guy who has driven $500 cars for 8 years

Better to get a low interest loan and buy a 3 year old car that's just been given back to the dealer after a PCP leasing term is up
