Yeah this is a huge problem for me, and I really don't feel like doing it after working 8 hours. A recipe that says it takes 10 minutes actually takes me 30+ minutes with all the cleanup.

I cook stuff on the grill because you can clean the entire surface before you cook next time in like 1 minute, and then get vegetables you can cook in the microwave, steamed broccoli in a plastic bag you just toss out. And then you can buy some sauces to add variety into your meat and vegetables.

it's not just about saving money, but also about knowing what actually goes into your food. also it is usually quite easy to optimize the workflow of your favorite meals so that it can be prepared much more efficiently.

Up your game a bit. I used to make steak on the stove, takes like 7 minutes to cook from fire on the pan to steak on the plate. Then a soak in the sink while I eat and a quick wash of the pan and the plate at the end takes another 4 minutes. Steak at home costs like $12 while the same steak in a restaurant is like $30. You don't need side dishes either, waste of time in my opinion.

Chicken and rice took longer because there was more seasoning involved, but it was great for bulking.

Bruh.
I do the rest though, right now while traveling my breakfast is a liter of milk (650kcal) and two little pastries (400kcal), total cost is 2 euros, most of that being the milk. I also recently bought a tub of protein powder for the outrageous price of about a euro per scoop (21g protein), which helps round out the macros.

The other meal of the day is usually goyslop. France seems to think that a california burrito in a rectangular shape is a "taco", but it's very cost effective and usually does have a good amount of protein, even if it's somewhat low quality. Total food expense for the day is like 15 euros.

In most civilized countries, you can go to the corner store or a street vendor or a small casual restaurant and pick up a decently healthy meal for a few bucks. There are a number of aspects particular to American life and regulation that preclude this being possible here, though.

I don't see a problem.
It is essential to your mental well being to do something that takes a little effort and time OP.
Sucking cock doesn't count.
Otherwise you end up with a skewed perception of how much effort to put into any activity relative to the reward.
This results in even the simplest of tasks, such as cooking, being perceived as a challenging and unworthy. Despite its simplicity.
And the hardest tasks? Forget about them. Sex, games, tv, gambling or drugs have a better time/effort-reward ratio. Requiring almost zero effort or time.
What you are experiencing.
It is named sloth.

$12 in USA gets you a steak that's about 1000kcal and it covers almost all your protein for the day. If you can't afford $20 a day for food, that's a problem and you're probably already cooking at home anyway.

Chicken and rice is way cheaper, like $3 for the whole meal (again, about 1000kcal) if you buy the breasts in bulk and freeze them until you thaw and cook it. Still really good and better than goyslop for sure.

Tell me anon, why are you poor? Why didn't you just buy bitcoin 5 years ago? What the hell were you thinking?
