how do I protect myself from inflation and banking collapse as a financial brainlet? I have all my money in the bank like a retard but I'm not brave enough to put it all in random shitcoins or smart enough to invest it normally. I like the sound of silver but I am afraid of how much I will lose to fees and shit.

sorry I don't have a frog picture to post so please accept this anime girl

The absolute worst thing you could do to "protect" yourself "from inflation and banking collapse" is to go all in on Silver as it's the exact opposite of a hedge against inflation. Silver was $49 in 2011 and today it's crabbing around $26-$22 and that's WITH inflation having massively increased since 2011 and exponentially going up. But it's even worse than that as it was nearly $50 in 1980 and since 1980 inflation has increased even more than since 2011.

Just spend 70% of your fiat on BTC and ETH and some XMR, spend 20% on shitcoins that aren't too retarded (no jeet PNDs), and 10% on Gold.

Specifically 500 is, well, the S&P 500, when people say buy S&P500 they don't mean buy individual stuff like when they say "buy tech stocks". S&P500 is an index fund with shares and a buy in price

>> No.54900825

If you need the money within the next ~4 years then put in a HYSA that gives you like ~4.6% risk free return.

If you can weather downturns and have the guts, put it in a S&P500 index fund. Time horizon is important here, you could be stuck in a down cycle for 4-5 years but if you don't need the money you can stay in and not lose long term.
