Does walking physically into a restaurant or any other workplace and asking for a job work in in 2023?

sure, if the owner is there

Yeah, I literally just did that like two weeks ago. Just apply online, then put on something nice and go in and ask to speak to the manager.

Which continent? What did you say when you entered? Should I buy a soup first and then ask later to not be rude?

>> No.54881259

People love to pretend that low skill jobs arent constantly bleeding staff and that you unironically can walk into any major retailer or grocery store and ask to speak to the manager. Tell them you're a hard worker and that you have open availability and 9/10 times you'll be offered a job right then and there. Even if the owner isnt there, you just made a great first impression and the staff will remember you. There's no excuse not to have a job in 2023 honestly people are just spoiled and lazy

The soup doesn’t fucking matter, Jesus Christ. Just shake his hand firmly, look him in the eye, and say that you already applied online and were wondering if you guys could set up an interview sometime.

Be very careful with the soup, it can be a dealbreaker

This. I totally get not wanting to work a mega-wagie job, but basically anyone can get a job. Wages for low-level workers have shot up so much that you could survive as a grocery store worker or a waiter.

it works but also why not just use indeed? its basically the same thing on steroids. just 1 click and you've applied.

it doesn't just work, it has a much higher chance to be successful. putting in the effort to show up in person is more appreciated than a zoomer writing a short application email between fortnite games.

When I left college, I printed up 100 flyers reading YOUNG MAN SEEKS WORK and handed them to every business in town. By the time I got home, I had 11 job offers waiting for me.

Yeah but these are terrible min wage or close to min wage jobs that are absolutely soul crushing and back breaking.

People do not want to work these jobs as they get you nowhere in life and only allow you to rent a shit 1 bedroom apartment and pay for bills/food and have no savings.

I've seen multiple supervisors get annoyed that people did this when they just wanted them to apply online.
