Why do they say the job market is tight when every day I head about more and more companies doing layoffs? That imples the job market warket was booming before the crisis whic hwasn't the case.

(((they))) are lying right to your face and because you're never going to do anything about it, they'll keep up the propoganda.

Just like yesterday when Powell said the banking system was safe and resilient, then another regional bank collapsed in the afternoon.

So awful jobs that pay like shit

>> No.54847483

the employment numbers are inherently flawed because they report a person working two jobs as two separate employed people. So really because more people are finding it necessary to work multiple jobs because the cost of living is getting so out of hand, the employment numbers are inflated. To figure out the actual employment numbers you would have to take the proportion of people working multiple jobs and factor that in to the employment numbers but they will never do that. This doesn't serve their purpose of gaslighting you into thinking that the economy and country are doing great and your struggles are the result of your own shortcomings.

Imagine two glasses with markings on them, indicating "full". One glass is 150% full, the other is only 25% full. The full glass is overfilled and water can be spilled out of it easily. The other is almost empty. There is not enough water to fill both, yet there is still too much in one.
The job market is, yes, tight, but that does not mean that local gluts don't exist. On top of that, the water is also evaporating rapidly.
