Unironically yes. Posted in the the other thread. The bank acted like I was stealing my own money. 20k withdrawal.
>walk in
>approach the teller
>tell them I’d like to withdraw all of the money from both my checking and saving
>they stutter but they say okay we can do that
>looks up my account and sees how much I’m asking for
>near audible “oyyyy veeeey”
>asks me to hold on just a second while they get ahold of their manager
>manger shows up almost instantly
>5’2 guy with in a suit with glass and, yep, you guessed it, a hooked nose
>takes me into his office and starts asking a bunch of questions
>asking what it’s for, trying to convince me they may not have that much in the vault to dish out
Took like an hour and a half but finally got my money.
Shit was fucking ridiculous

My bank recently added a $12 monthly fee, you would think adding fees after I've had them for 10+ years would make customers change banks. The fuck are they thinking

always keep your money on bank. don't buy gold, i did but their are two problems with that. 1, you tend to tell everybody you own gold which comprises your security. 2, it may be stolen unless you own property in which case you can hide it. The problem with stocks is that it's gambling. People worry about inflation, but it's the bad investment decisions that ruin people. Never invest your own money, private investors are less rational and you don't get feedback so you're literally echo chambering every bad idea and decision, hence you don't feel any shame when you lose a couple hundred. i assure, the dread and panic you will feel when you lost 10k, will give you sleepless nights and unbelievable stress. Stop before it's too late, do not hardwire your brain to become a gambler.

Store your money on the bank. Most of it is insured. Stocks or crypto losses on the other hand, wall st. vs main st. Buy goods and services, not worthless financial instruments that thiefs use to rob you. Keep min. 5k emergency money, 3k switch money (between jobs), 2k ether (i.e. money that you assume you don't have, it's the emergency money of the emergency money) and 3k for comfort money (makes you relax), 2k for spending money (groceries, toys) and 2k for social money (birthday presents, family visits, etc.). anything above that you can use to pay off your debts or go on vacation.

and 2k stemmoney (from stemcell), i.e. unspecialized money, money that doesn't yet fit into any of the categories i mentioned.

I've got an 80 acre mini farm that I can bug out to at a moment's notice.
No livestock aside from chickens atm, but have real good friends who have hogs and beef less than 5 miles away.
Still have a ton of canned food from last year and have good well water and a creek that runs through my property.
Also enough guns and ammo to fend off the nogs if they some how figured out how to escape their rat nests an hour away.

I keep my savings in my Steam wallet. it's very secure since I have 2fa on my steam account and it's highly liquid - I can cash out by buying csgo keys and then RMTing them for paypal money whenever I need to buy something.

Putting your money in a bank is a decision. Depending on the bank. It can be a bad decision.
