how hard is learning to code really?

>> No.54811705

>>54811675
Not very hard. What's hard is building something unique.

I used to think I wanted to do this, but then I realized I would rather watch fucking paint dry. Fuck programming.

So true, I hate this, but I can't make any money otherwise((

I've been learning some python bc I want to fuck around in pytorch. It's not really hard, it work in an extremely logical way for the most part. If your brain works like that you can find it satisfying, I dont want to do it for a living though just to fuck around with

Depends on you. If you're one of the zoomlennials born in the sweet spot where you have amazing tech skills and also played around with some heavier stuff enough to get "computer logic", you're basically just learning syntax.

Im waiting until the ultimate coding language is made.

I feel so bad for programmers. Its like learning portuguese, spanish, and russian just to find out one day that those languages got cancelled, and you had to learn a new one or you got fired.

>> No.54811808

Extremely simple once the basic concepts click. Coding efficiently is different beast that not everyone can (or cares to) do. Having said that, you're expected to code efficiently during interviews KEK

ai will replace our jobs and write perfect flawness code and even maintain themselves! Why would you want into this dying field?

You will probably be more stable learning to fix people's toilets. Everyone has a toilet. AI can't fix that.
Just kidding, iPhone / iPad Programmer here. In demand as fuck. Ez money kids

being "able to code" is subjective and honestly just a stupid phrase

any retard can memorise the basic syntax and write for loops and technically be "able to code"

being "able to code" to the point where you can get a job at FAANG is very, very different. Most people are not even close to the level of ability required and never will be. This seems to be what people envision when they talk about being "able to code".

I'm a computer engineering grad and I knew pretty quickly that despite being 125IQ I still wasn't smart enough to code at that kind of level. It requires an certain kind of ability for abstract thought that is very rare combined with a massive amount of work. You need to enjoy it to sustain doing that amount of work imo. Maybe if i enjoyed it more I could have put in the 100s of hours grinding leetcode to pass an interview. I still think about it sometimes.

AI has that covered you're way to late now the whole business is dead. I would suggest you either try an angle with the AI and code or find something completely different.

Your humbleness is based. Ive got a 140 iq which is nothing special overall but the only thing ive ever been good at is physics.

It requires more discipline than actual intelligence to be employable in coding.

do you know how to read? can you write? do you understand some basic bitch logic? can you write notes about simple things that make them easy for you to reference understand and explain?

it's p easy but already oversaturated.

Extremely easy if you have the brain for it, seemingly impossible otherwise. One of those things where you can tell immediately whether someone can do it.

Everyone knows how to code until they're asked to code a chart
And if you know how to code a chart you don't need to get hired really
