May not be able to buy or sell without their say so. And maybe nothing ever happens and you die old with $100k in expired survival food you never used. But better prepared and not need it.
There are going to be absolute useless losers (like on this board) that get lucky and buy property in cities and lambos and absolute useless things.
I think most important is having a good piece of property to be able to grow some food enough for oneself and to trade for other things with like minded folk. I'm not advocating for a homestead.
