Everyone better buckle-up. It's not so much the layoffs in my industry that I'm concerned about as the sudden influx of highly skilled and motivated talent that's going to flood the market when mass layoffs hit Oracle, IBM, SAP, etc. Your job might not be killed by economic pressures and AI but it could get stolen by the Enterprise Architect who'll suddenly work for pennies.

Can confirm. I work for the Banks. Tellers and customer service representatives are being replaced by Automation and AI.
Pretty much everything is done online nowadays, making any physical branch redundant
