In a way it's funny. The whole U.S govt debt is based on nothing more than what some computer says is on the balance sheet. So nothing is stopping them (congress/fed/whoever) from telling the computer; "Hey here's 31 trillion extra we found buried in a vault" to wipe the debt clean off. They could do it. When you control the money creation machine you can do damn near anything you want. Who's to say otherwise? That money don't exist anyway so where it comes from don't mater. V.S the old days where your money was based/backed by gold/silver,etc.

They weren't set up this way because of urban youths (Canada didn't really have those at the time), it was more a space and cost saving measure as they could condense everything warehouse style and not worry about it being nice for customers.

Michigan feels like a bunker from clown world. There is lots of fishing and hunting available here. I'm thinking of going wild boar hunting next year. They have essentially a farm where you can take a "safari" and hunt them, and they guarantee you a kill and process it for you. And a boar will give you a shit ton of meat. It truly would be. I think a hearty dose of the midwest would do him a lot of good. Going to the beaches of the great lakes is very therapeutic. Hiding? Stable income, good earnings even during "bad times", stable market share, will never dump erratically, good positioning to take advantage of the AI stuff... yeah, people are really stupid to be "hiding" in these companies.

I just saw another way that GOOG is trailing MSFT. I have been using MSFTs authenticator app which allows you to store your data "in tha cloud", and GOOG just announced theirs will now do that too. Makes me think of that comment the MSFT head jeet said, "we made Google dance". I think the biggest threat MSFT earnings is facing is the slowing of Azure adoption, aside from the general economic situation. I'm probably lowering their earnings too will all these WMT gift cards I've been getting from using Edge to search Bing.

Hi frens
Bought my first shares yesterday.
I really liked how it's all official with some certificate. I always thought stocks were a scam to be honest.
I have taken out some profit from my crypto.
And looking to put some profit in stocks.
Should I just use my bank?
The service fees are 0,12% I don't know if that's a lot. But it feels a bit safer,

I've heard putting money in Vanguard is also a good option but I saw many of their funds just hold top 10 stocks for like 30%. I don't want to hold stocks of any of those companies. So I'm not really sure. I think I can pick better stocks myself.

You know, i think it's a little strange FRC dumped on the news that they lost 70 billion in deposits. They've been saying that for like a month before this earnings call that this is the amount they had lost. Seeing it on an earnings call confirms it, but the leading estimate for deposits was Q4 cash - 70 billion dollars.

So what's the reason people are freaking out? We know they're being fronted a bunch of loans below par, and they're collecting a large spread on interest rate vs deposit interest. The fed has basically promised to keep them afloat.

Everything has been priced in correctly for the last month. What is that sharp aftermarket drop from? The only surprising news was a large earnings beat.

I guess the fact that management refused to do a Q&A section and through out their forward guidance is a really bad sign. Am I missing anything here? That balance sheet is basically no significant news. We already knew it was bad, that's why it dropped almost 90% of its value before the earnings call.

I mean, everyone loves to dream but i think that's a little bit unreasonable. FRC is a functional business that had a sudden implosion in the middle of a recession. Realistically the triage would take at least a couple quarters or until after the recession pulls out of the deleveraging phase.

yeah but the firm takes a bit of money and ofc has its own rules. I prefer to be on my own. To be fair the thing which makes me good at it is simply pocketing partial profits, so i limit my gains to a few points and a prop firm is really not needed for this. Currently I am scared to let the profit runs or even to trade bigger volumes.

I think the taxes depend on where you and where the firm are located. You are considered an employee. Taxes are higher than capital gains and yeah there is a cut to the firm you have to pay but like I said, if you're profitable, the nature of trading other people's money might be an easy way of trading more contracts.
You're smart not trading too many contracts right now, I think successful futures trading is about scaling not taking huge risks.
