In the past, people had boundless imagination and were able to create amazing things and start new businesses. However, in today's society, it seems that there is a lack of imagination when it comes to building new things or starting new ventures. Many people seem to prefer sticking to what is already established and following conventional paths. Why do you think this is the case? What are the possible reasons behind this apparent lack of imagination and creativity in today's society?

creativity is a direct output of high amounts of life force energy, today's people are drained and have very little life force energy (the force of creation)

Imagination is the production or simulation of novel objects, sensations, and ideas in the mind without any immediate input of the senses. Stefan Szczelkun characterises it as the forming of experiences in one's mind, which can be re-creations of past experiences, such as vivid memories with imagined changes, or completely invented and possibly fantastic scenes. Imagination helps make knowledge applicable in solving problems and is fundamental to integrating experience and the learning process. As an approach to build theory, it is called "disciplined imagination". A basic training for imagination is listening to storytelling, in which the exactness of the chosen words is the fundamental factor to "evoke worlds". Imagination is a cognitive process used in mental functioning and sometimes used in conjunction with psychological imagery. It is considered as such because it involves thinking about possibilities.

TL;DR, Y2K was real and fucked the world up

it's the increasing level of complexity
the higher level of complexity, the easier it is to iterate, and the harder it is to innovate
a.i. is actually great at effortless iteration, so pretty soon humans won't do anything worthwhile
