I know that feel, bro. I got into crypto October 2021, but I wish I waited until October 2022 instead. My stacks would be way bigger, at least.

Ah, yes. A dogecoiner spotted. You bought in post Elon Musk's Doge hype. I feel sorry for you getting conned into the biggest memecoin in crypto by a retard who never had, never had, and never will have any place in crypto.

I've been in since 2016, we've all lost alot of money over the years....take a seat Anon. If your around for long enough and arent too stupid, you end up making more than you lose.

You’re supposed to get in at a time like this rather than at the tail end of a massive six month bullrun. Just buy some alt like LINK or GRT right now and hold for 18-24 months and you’re basically guaranteed a 10-20x

I regret buying shitcoins before learning about the tools and relevant contract functions for spotting scams and rugpulls. The PEPE minibull was a learning experience.

Newfag here. Are they just entirely sustained on FOMO and then rug after ten new shitcoins are made in it's wake? How would you spot rugs and scams?

>> No.54690598

>>54690533
Shitcoin scams rely on FOMO, yes. A lot of people calling "early gems" on twitter are either in on it or too fucking lazy/stupid to check the contract before they ape in. I was ignorant but it's really shocking there are people with 10k followers falling for this shit.

The contract typically contains a function for removing the ability to transfer (sell), or permissions to set a tax (up to 100%), excessive gas fees (acting as a tax to the owner), and even a renounced contract and liquidity burnt is no guarantee, as the contract can still contain a function that allows the owner permissions to the zero address. Doesn't matter if they burn the initial liquidity if they can get a profit on those they scam. The classic rugpull happens through an unrenounced contract owner simply removing the unlocked/unburnt liquidity once they reach their goal.

de(dot)fi/scanner and dextools are good first steps for any warning signs. isrug(dot)app is good for checking fees. bubblemaps for checking supply distribution, because some are "legit" but in the end you're just liquidity to be dumped on. tokensniffer and honeypot(dot)is are good as well, but note the latter only checks whether it's a honeypot at the time. dextools can also give false negatives on honeypots and so can isrug. The owner can let people sell initially before springing the trap. As I learned. All of this is defi related, CEXs have their own problems.

Insightful answer, thank you. I was close to fall for such scams, but I will not be gambling on shitcoins but do DCA on stablecoins until I have a greater understanding of market swing trading

Because you are dumb, bagging shitcoins and not even looking at narratives. buy some privacy and orcale tokens and make some gain.

>> No.54692034

>>54686266
kek, exactly, the name gives it away, there are a lot of based narratives like privacy, defi. memes are obvious pump and dump schemes.
