Huge part of darknet still accept bitcoin, because they aactually know how to use mixers and how to use bitcoin privately..
Bitcoin is faster than XMR
Is easier to use than XMR
is also more secure than XMR in case the glowers try to fuck up the network, it's much easier to create an army of CPUs than an army of ASICs..
And if monero were ever to become global like bitcoin is right now it would be extremely bloated as monero's blockchain is only 5x less than the one of bitcoin, so if monero was as big as bitcoin its blockchain would be in the house of thousand of terabytes, extremely bloated and heavy.

The free market will decide what it wants, and by the looks of things it wants only Monero.

It will decide.. it's been here for 8 years and still..... nothing... Seems like it will catch up, just give it another 8 years..
While bitcoin already is implementing privacy features on second layer, lightning network, being widely used and adopted worldwide and more important, being used as a hedge against inflation.

My friend, I think the market has already decided.

lol what you mean "nothing?" The darknet is demonstrably abandoning Bitcoin, there are more Monero-only markets launching now than Bitcoin+Monero markets, over 8 in just the past year alone.

As for L2, LN, etc, all those are DOA, the darknet simply isn't interested.

Well, you got me there, some folks still prefer monero over bitcoin, thats about it..
There folks using bitcoin on the darknet you cant deny that, and let me tell you what, there's more people using bitcoin on the surface than people using monero on darknet

My conclusion, bitcoin is still winning isnt it?
Monero will never catch up, its been her for fucking 8 years and still...

"Some folks" lol this are highly influential privacy gurus we're talking about here, the rest of the privacy space takes their cues from these guys.

> and let me tell you what, there's more people using bitcoin on the surface than people using monero on darknet

the darknet is permissionless, you can't be banned from the black market

the clearnet is not permissionless, you can be banned from the white market.

In other words, if and when CBDCs are given a monopoly and crypto is shut out of the mainstream economy (white market), who will accept your Bitcoins in exchange for goods & services?

>My conclusion, bitcoin is still winning isnt it?

Depends on what you mean by winning. Monero's adoption by black markets means it isn't at risk of being rendered useless by a CBDC white market monopoly.

>Monero will never catch up, its been her for fucking 8 years and still...

lol Monero-only markets have only been a thing since late 2020, things are just getting started..

these idiots seriously think that monero "doesn't leave any trace?" lmao! it's a fucking blockchain your transaction graph is slightly obfuscated but immutably stored forever to slowly analyze and reduce as more data is gathered.

XMR addresses and amounts do not appear on the blockchain and are thus not subject to chain analysis.

That's literally the argument for XMR, you have no idea what you are talking about.

>> No.54683525

>>54683450
the transaction graph only has a few decoys that erode via exclusion over time as data is gathered by chain anal. addresses don't play into this at all. once the amount flow is determined at points where it touches a service or vendor or recovered wallets it's trivial to deduce the flow of xmr on the reduced tx graph. (assuming there is no secret inflation possible) sorry!

there is nothing untraceable about monero it just takes more time. ya all are going to jail!

Zero-knowledge proving. You can mathematically validate some value or property while having zero knowledge of what that value or property is.
