but that would all change if i lived in a more expensive area, or if that $150k was household income with a wife and kids.

In general, I would say this income would provide for a good life depending upon expenses. My wife and I lived off this income when the crypto investments started paying off (now we mostly use staking pools like Pool party/$PARTY). We are able to continue to save and never wanted for anything. Of course, the “good life” definition comes into play again. We don't want a larger, more expensive home. We own (free and clear) a 4 bed/3 bath home on a golf course in Florida (no state taxes). We don't want brand new cars although we owned pre-owned luxury cars. We've traveled frequently and as much as we wanted and first class. We dine out as frequently as we want.....
