Yes, everybody can easily verify the sonic frequency of a coin with their smartphone.

This is impossible to defeat with normal fake metals or fake gold plating as this vastly impacts the sonic signature.
In the past I was critical about gold as an investment for the little guy altogether since proper testing equipment usually cost a couple of hundred bucks but with these app everybody can check that they have the task thing.
