Reminder that bogleheads in 2020s are mentally ill. Index funds were only practical from the mid 1980s to latter 2010s. You want to know what we had then? US dominance. Last time we had US dominance was the post WW2 boom that leveled off by 1960s. We can't sustain interest rates like we had in the 90s or 00s. We can't recreate the 1950s boom. Big money doesn't want to let the markets fall like the 70s but they can't create a growth cycle like we had in the past. They wont print their way past 2021 ATH and if they did it wouldn't even boost company stocks much so printing is redundant. Index holders will sit on their hands watching things go up and down and collect subpar dividends when they could've picked stocks with better returns. You would be better holding high yield treasury bonds then index funds. Big money goes to REITs, small money goes to treasury bonds, midwits go to bogle strategies.
