MGS1 is absolutely epic and one of the greatest games ever made. MGS2 and 3 are nice, but nowhere near as special as MGS1.

MGS5 and Piss Walker are so bad they can't even be called MGS games, they're an insult to the previous games, even an insult to MGS4 (which itself is is pretty bad compared to the previous ones). MGS5 in particular has nothing at all of what makes a Metal Gear Solid game a Metal Gear Solid game, it only shares some character names and character designs, and even by itself as a standalone game it's garbage in every way. MGS5 is so shit you may as well play the Acid games instead, they're really bad but actually more fun.

After MGS4 you should just play Snatcher (Sega CD version) and Policenauts if you want more Kojima content, and forget the other MGS games exists. Well, other than Portable Ops, it's worth playing once, it's okay, certainly better than Piss Walker.
