Beautiful gun you got there and nice Jap coins? I've been wanting to get some of those. I've finally had some time to look into the coins my Grandma left me. Loads are just standard copper/nickel or brass/bronze but there are a few silvers in there. Here are the coins she had from Egypt. Only one silver coin in that bunch but they are still really cool to have. She had loads of Morgans/Peace and other 40-90% US coins. Im real focused on the foreign shit though

Thank you! My grandma traveled the world back in the day and kept coins from the places she went. There are shit tons hardly just started goingthough and trying to organize them. Yeah, the scalloped edges are kinda legit. Its a nice break from the standard rounded edges. The Sphinx is by far my favorite one I've found and the silver one is .720 silver. Thats just like one tiny bag of a full ammo can full of coins lol. I'll post more as I get to em!

>>54515771
lol my mom did that to a bunch of 30 carbine i left at their house. She traded it for 9mm but its family and I did shoot my fair share of it so I totally get not being upset. My parents mostly get me ammo for Christmas but my inlaws send me silver so it all works out very well for me hahaha. Father inlaw sent pic rel for Christmas

I asked that exact same question last thread and now have 4 commemorative silver dollar coins inbound lol.

The only problem I’ve seen so far is the potential to get clad non-silver coins unless you do your research on them before buying. Shit my pants before clarifying that one of the coins I got was 90%.

I did creep near 30$ on three of the orders but I scored one for 26$. If you resist the FOMO and snipe the good deals this is about the closest you can buy to spot while getting something with inherent numismatic value. I argue the cases and CoAs they come with along with the lower mintage or graded slabs justifies the extra bucks.

It’s been the perfect pick-me-up after reaching my latest milestone. Bored with conventional bullion and junk so this has been a really exciting new outlet to feed my autism.

Currently inbound:
>PR69 1995 Blind Runner Paralympics
>1988-D Olympics
>1986-S Proof Statue of Liberty
>1993-P Jefferson Commemorative

>Anyone on here use sterling flatware?
Here. I use a couple of .950 forks + big and dessert spoons from the pre-revolutionary era. I feel like a king eating my microwaved cup noodles with 3+oz silverware. At first you aren't used to your tableware being so heavy. I don't use silver knives as they only are good to spread butter/jam or to eat fishes.

Also caution warning :
be careful when you eat hot soup or tea and you left your spoon in the bowl/cup without holding it. Silver being the best conductor of heat, the tip of the handle and the spoon's bowl will be as hot as the liquid itself. I burned my fingers and tongue a few times the first month, being used to stainless steel spoons.

With that saving, I would go for the older years as long as it’s BU condition. I really doubt people will care about the year when desperate. They’ll just want an Eagle. As long as silver keeps climbing, you won’t lose out on the premium. If silver crabs or drops like it did last year, you’ll lose some. But as long as you don’t mind holding, you shouldn’t care much.

I don't get the logic. I believe in silver, not in useless tags carved on it. If i purchase metals, it's because i distrust and fear two things : (((big government))) and (((fiat currencies))). Why would i spend MORE to get something denominated in USD and minted by the government?

This is completely counterintuitive. The US government already is in an advanced stage of collapsing, and don't represent since decades what the constitution stood for, so i don't see the point of picking something minted by an entity in an advanced stage of decay.
I just want the best bang for my bux, not to purchase symbolic totems supposed to add an arbitrary value (NOT tied to the underlying asset), due to hordes of brainwashed zombies believing buying overpriced silver is the only way they have to feel "patriotic".

What you are buying is a "collector" item, but mass produced to the point it's most likely the most common gov minted silver coin. Just like your constitutional dimes and half dollars, who have been casted in the hundred of billions range, x1000 more than any other silver coin worldwide, yet you don't hesitate to spend $42 for an ounce.
This is utterly absurd to me.

Constitutional silver is different I think though. I know someone posted an article about when silver was over $50 an ounce about how much refineries were melting down constitutionally silver. However I agree it does carry a crazy premium if you’re buying from a shop. But if you can get it around 20x FV at the moment it’s not too bad. Right now $1 of silver quarters melts just under $19

The only eagle i'm willing to spend some extra on. Pretty insane to witness the fucking reichsmark's premium to be lower than fucking US junk kek. Without even acknowledging the symbolic, historic, (some would add artistic) and metaphysical value of the RMs, which are mogging US junk to levels unfathomable, one have been minted only for 3 years for a total of 50M coins, 90% of which have been melted down and sent back home by the red army and the allies, then declared morally reprehensible by the Bundesregierung and further melted down by the germans themselves as ultimate sign of submission.
The other have been minted so much it's legit hard to calculate it.

But we probably are at 5 millions 5RM versus 5 billions of half dollars existing. 1000x more common, yet somehow more expensive. This is the ultimate testimony at how stupidly rich burgers still are. You are so rich you don't care about what you do with your money. But it's understandable, you don't have to work much to make a lot in the US, your centralized power simply vampirize productivity from all others nations. But as the USD is finally losing it's reserve currency status, you'll progressively pay more attention at how you spend. And be smarter about it. Trust the poorfag yuropoor i am on this one.
We could argue this trend already started, especially concerning food. Mcdolan, doordash, KFC, etc.. going full "restructuring" since last month is a telling sign people start to consider spending 2Ks in food + tips each month isn't a financially sustainable approach.
Personally my last fast food was an economic "McFirst" formula, over a year ago. And i still feel guilty about spending those 6 bux so recklessly.
