Storage for Natgas is way above seasonal/historical averages. This is what happens with commodities. Crisis causes massive spike in prices, production ramps up, goes over the top, then the reverse happens, everyone trying to dump gas before storage is full. Would not be surprised to see US natgas flush down to zero before its over & stablise. recession has very little impact on natural gas prices, you are showing your ignorance with this post
in fact, a recession can increase natural gas usage - more people are at home watching TV, using air conditioning
whereas the same people sitting at home = less oil usage
oil ≠ natural gas
natural gas moves based upon the weather and supply
EU has insane storage levels, where they will have no issue whatsoever stocking up for the winter
this is the driver of natural gas moving lower, as I have explained to /smg/ over and over (yet they continue to hammer themselves in the dick)
for BOIL baggies reading this post, pls inform yourselves with this link..

i dont think they have much to do with LNG. LNG is coming from the Permian basin in america. US bombed the russian pipeline and are now the top exporters of NG.

>>54438645
its called price discovery due to supply and demand. they ahve to wait to see how much NG is being used and as time is going on they are finding that they have way more NG than is needed. remember how europe was supposed to freeze last winter and it ended up being an unnaturally warm winter instead? now all that NG is not needed. you are leveraging on weather basically.

as >>54438733 mentions, natural gas is what generates electricity all across the world; it is the favored energy source. you are able to ramp up production of energy to meet demand - nuclear / wind / solar you cannot, natural gas fills the gaps (always)
natural gas moves based upon the weather, specifically heating days and cooling days (which are measured / projected by various weather orgs) if there are more heating days = more demand for energy, more cooling days = more demand for energy = natural gas goes up

Oil did what it did because of the very sudden appearance of a totally unprecedented bearish situation. Natgas could go to $1.75 or so I guess, but it's not going to make a new all time low because all of the bearish fundamental factors in play right now are known and priced in. There is no new development that could possibly come along to make things even MORE bearish. It may not go back up any time soon, but the absolute max bottom is somewhere around where we are now.

This is almost the size of it for me personally, but I myself did go look at the futures going into Jan 24 and saw a gradual rise from June into Oct and then a pretty good jump in Jan and figured it was at least "safe". At that time I was absolutely clueless to contango, the relevant macroeconomic situation, contract rolls, etc. Thankfully all along the way there were Anons saying what retards we were, and a few including bits and pieces of why that was the case, and I listened. I got burned, but not devastatingly. The whole thing has been incredibly educational for me and hopefully the application will result in future bounties. I am truly grateful to all who have contributed to my education, bless (Y'all).
