I have a small amount of ktos that is doing ok, one chunk in my normal account that is down 30% from avg and another in my IRA that is up 50% from avg. Should I hold on both or try to sell and move into large caps like Raytheon and General Dynamics? I've started buying GD and Rhienmetall AG as artillery shell plays but don't know if the German Market as a whole can withstand the economic storm, it has done better relative to GD short term but is a smaller market Cap and presumably dependent on an international arms market. I'm not sure which I should try to increase my positions in. Also does BAE systems remain a buy, I've held the in the past but was frustrated in a lack of any actual movement prior to the war in Ukraine.

Zogbot here and I second this. Military right now is basically an elaborate welfare scheme and adult day care for brown people. No one is willing or able to fight. Materiel is in complete disarray. Yet here we are, actually preparing for kinetic conflict with China... it's hard to believe they expect enough people to buy into it. I'm guessing they'll have to false flag a cyber attack and blame China for taking social media offline because that's probably the only thing that would get our generations upset.

The bad part about defense stocks is that they just get sucked into the "industrial sector" which is what large funds will buy/sell based on macro business cycle dynamics alone. So you get all the defense stocks trading basically the same. From an actual fundamental analysis perspective, I can tell you most of these companies are laying people off and can't meet their obligations. You can theorize that they'll get big $$$ contracts but not when our sovereign debt is starting to become an issue.

If economic woes are in anyway similar to 2008 I expect them to take a hit but do relatively better than rest of market. If situation is considerably worse I expect these companies to make deals not available to other industries to stay afloat. Defense contractors will be the last companies to go out of business afaik because without them you do not have a state. That is not to say they won't have layoffs or have issues but that despite this I expect them to survive long term and have in front of them them best possible market as these contracts will occur and represent large orders relative to the past, both domestically and internationally. It may take changes to fully capitalize but I imagine someone at these massive companies should be able to figure out how to survive even in times of economic strife so long as they are supplying a demand.

Good is subjective but LMT, Boeing, GD, RTX, BAE Systems, Airbus, Northrop Grumman, Huntington Ingalls, L3, almost all aerospace company dabble in some parts for Jets or Defense. Most above are large market caps and pay modest dividends. Smaller companies exist and Kratos is included in that, high debt but interesting tech if too advanced for current desires IE Sat over ethernet and various attack drones and autonomous vehicle retrofits. Rheinmetall makes gay tanks but also significant quantities of munitions as far as European companies go. BAE makes Typhoons, American companies capture most of the current and previous generation jet sales outside of Russian production. RTX and GD handle a lot of naval and ground products but like most of the heavy hitters they dabble in munitions and other areas quite a bit, GD doing quite bit of artillery shell production. LMT creates Javelins and maybe stingers in addition to their drones, unlike KTOS actual significant sales, and AS products. Note that traditional, post war on terror, products are the most consistent sales. High tech is neat but artillery shells and guided missiles are proven and far more valuable than wunderweapons.

We are at a critical stage of evolution of war. The notion of weakness came from ethics being asymmetrically applied to the battlefield. Psychologically, soldiers and agents can be conditioned with subliminal messaging and bioaugmentation to strengthen their resolve & vigor, especially when such measures are comingled with specific drugs, for instance, hyoscine and a litany of stimulants for acute cognitive and physical enhancement. It can be utilized in conjunction with cool compresses activated by specific mechanisms within a soldier's uniform/armor to prevent hyperthermia, as well as failsafe antidotes/countermeasures to eliminate the concerns of PTSD, memory of sensitive intel or events, as well as physiological consequences of the circulatory and respiratory systems. In this state, given appropriate conditioning and training was conducted, the soldier can be directed to act with singular purpose to eradicate all targets with frightening efficiency for extended periods of time especially if exceptionally equipped. The predominant concerns are dosage, physiological sensitivity (hereditary or drug interactions- candidates would likely need to be free of any other required meds and health conditions), also adequate protocols for when a soldier or squad may enter such a state. The serum would need to be shelf stable or used fast in deep strikes or last resort scenarios where friendly fire can be minimized. Personnel would be aware when a soldier or squad would be under such effects to prevent dangerous encounters, as even with considerable training and conditioning, personnel may find it difficult to distinguish friend or foe.

TL;DR: The military has every tool available *right now* to make modern day berserkers wielding precision weaponry that could operate with relatively safety for days (and for fairly low cost). The other option is to expand AI and drone combat platforms to the next level, but cost and coordination would be somewhat higher risk.
