the USD is the reserve currency BECAUSE the USA has the largest and strongest economy. Not the other way around. The USA has had the largest economy since the late 19th century and even then it was about 50 years and two world wars before the USD assumed primacy over GBP. The US still leads the globe in most high tech manufacturing sectors and our competitors all import energy while we are both an energy and food exporter. Meanwhile your own government has adjusted the date for parity out to 2060. Which is a tacit acknowledgement that it will never happen since by then China's population will be less than one billion. In fact demography is significantly worse than statistics officially acknowledged for years because local governments had been lying about school enrollments to get more money.

China was the sole of the boot of American capitalism, and it has worn through and will be replaced. The US isn't perfect but every other country is facing the same problems we are, or even worse problems.
