unless you're getting a mortgage or loan or soon (lol) there is no best amount of cards. just open more, itll help you long term anyway. i would pick up the chase cards you want while you still are under the 5/24 rule

I use Discover's cashback debit card for rent, it's not much but get like $15 in cash back a month even after the modest fee management company charges for debit card payments. I got it before I heard about Bilt, in hindsight might have been for the better. It sounds like redemption options for Bilt's points also aren't very good if you don't redeem to one of the better travel partners, and I don't do much traveling.

Got like half a dozen cards currently, latest one is Gemini CC for the 10% cash back on gas for a year promo they had going. Looking at the Kroger card (for 5% CB on mobile wallet purchases, seems like it'd be a good catch-all card since so many places take Google Pay these days), Chase Freedom Flex, and Citi Custom cash to try to get 5% on more of my spending. Been waiting though since all of them seem to be pretty sensitive to recent inquiries and new accounts.

Then I got the Coinbase and Crypto.com cards but I never use em, the perks on the Apple and Costco card too good. I literally only have the Amex card to push my limit higher (like $20k credit line on that card alone). I call every 6 months for them to increase my limits
