That's not the point. We were discussing USD hegemony. Sure the yuan isn't solving anything, and if they manage fiat supremacy, it will be extremely short.
Demographically speaking, China is a walking dead. If China's productivity exploded during the past generation, it's for 2 main reasons
>one child policy
>old chinks dead because of the Great Leap Forward
Basically in the 80-90s we ended up with an enormous glut of chinks aged 20-30, who had no olds nor childs to take care of. And an extra 150 millions men over women of working age.

This is the dream of any central planner, 60% of your population are young adults, and you don't have to spend huge amounts of cash and infrastructure into providing for retirees nor kids. So instead of building nursing homes and schools, you can go full manufacturing. But those young adults, they now are getting old. And there is nobody to replace them. China will experience the boomer boom suicide x10. And what will they do to finance their deficit spendings to take care of the crusty old fucks? Exactly what we are doing : print endless amount of cash and hope somebody else will be stupid enough to take their bags in exchange of real goods.

Basically the yuan will delay the fiat death for maybe a decade at best. Then maybe the next one will be India, who knows. One thing is certain : everybody needs a globally agreed upon medium of exchange.
They all want it to be gold if it's not them producing said medium, and the exact opposite if they are in the driver seat.
That's a gordian knot. Everybody want to be able to be the printing press, but wont allow others to enjoy this privilege otherwise they are basically working for free.

Ultimately, only gold and silver can fulfil this role in total impartiality. But who want impartiality in a world were "leaders" are elected for 4 years all around the globe and spend their entire mandate on how to leave the bag to the next one? Our problem is we don't have any long term vision

By doing what you already are doing : stacking PMs. The US infinite printing is already destroying the fabric of reality. Imagine if chinks and poos join us in the toilet paper fiesta.
In a sense, we are already there, in a giant musical chair game where every country print as fast as they can and try to buy the neighbor's stuff before they figure out it's useless paper.

What is fiat in fine? It's a delayed promise of work. So we distribute endless "coupons to work 1 hour, but later :^)", but in truth we have not even nearly enough ppl to do said promised work. So the coupons are null and void.

You will always stack at a rate commensurate with what you can afford. So after years of working to make a stack, you will always think, "I had to work really hard for this. Yet others my age have much bigger stacks and I'm still a stacklet." This is the way it will always be, unless some great fortune falls upon you.

Half my gold stack is in jewelry. Don't listen to the nay saying retards. Calculate the scrap cost of a ring or bracelet and pay as close to melt as possible. Almost all of my jewelry was bought at or just under spot. Also unless you have a coin dealer near by, when it comes time to sell, jewelry is ALWAYS easier to sell than bullion. Your average slackjawed blue collar worker won't even know what a gold coin is. But he knows his wife wants a ring and this one is gold so thats worth a few hundred bucks to him at least.

I've been living in China for the last 4 years since the pandemic and just started stacking silver.

I bought a few coins from this shop and today felt confident enough to buy more. I just submitted an order and realized the price is 105% of spot, so that's pretty good, right? I just worry when I take them back to America I might have a tough time selling to LCS because they're worried about fakes or whatever.

Question: Would you buy a coin in a proof case that only costs an extra $2-3 more than the regular price? Just for the potential numismatic value? In a lot of Anon's stack pictures I see quite a few proof cases.

Basically I can pay about 113% of spot for coins in proof cases or 105% of spot for regular coins in the ordinary circular pouches.

Temperate, I'd say. Not a lot of snow, in a city, but at the foot of the mountains, so snow's always a possibility, but thanks to climate change and urban heat island, it's getting less and less. But got some surprise snow yesterday. Was afraid that it killed my salad, but seems OK enough.

I haven't seen that price for a good 5-6 years now so I splashed out on 30 bottles of rum/vodka. I plan to either make profit on them or slowly drink them I guess. But now I can laser focus on PMs before the CBDC destroys the world.

That’s impressive for an average dude Anon. And historically it would have made you a rich man. In Rome you would have been an Equestrian - a lower noble, for having that much money.

Keep stacking. Save what you can. I started two years ago and my stack is only a little larger than yours. When I look at it I simultaneously think it’s small, but then I also realize how far I’ve come in a short time. I'd be all-in on silver if I didn't think there was a chance of encountering markets that only want gold because they deal with people who only want gold. Now they might accept silver, but they might want more than the amount equal to whatever amount of gold.
It's kind of like how PMs are valuable but most places take cash/credit/debit instead. Multiple markets is also why I'm not just all-in on gold - just the off-chance of meeting someone who wants something more divisible or having to buy/sell in smaller denominations.
Would like to get multi-ounce bars, but they're not so much cheaper that I can pass up coins. I just think about going in to sell one eventual day and with all the people trying to sell, I can't sell over 5 ounces at once. So many variables. My ratio is approaching 2:100.

If a future develops where there is at least a temporary but notable competitor to the US/petrodollar do you expect any national bias to affect matters? Example:
>shop who has something you need preferring PMs marked by US and its allies over PMs marked by BRICS and its allies
>reverse of above
Now this is pretty irrational of people, yes, but when someone's a supplier and holds a measure of power and then you mix that together with propaganda and national pride, do you think that could happen?
I know many of you love Krugerrands so do you think there's a possibility of a future where certain markets favor it from being the S in BRICS?
Like it's "worth more" to some than even coins with more security features as a result, so basically a shift in how premiums work due to nationalism.

Hello Chinanon! I'm something of a panda stacker myself. What are the gold and coin shops like over there? Stuff I see on you YouTube looks wild.

https://youtu.be/uRDq67WyWbI
https://youtu.be/uPQHRQq8SKU
https://youtu.be/aMeN5h6Tv78

>Would you buy a coin in a proof case that only costs an extra $2-3 more than the regular price? Just for the potential numismatic value?
Those cases are called "slabs" in the West and people refer to those as "slabbed coins". Different people have different strategies. There's one anon here who only buys slabbed pandas and he says they have been a better investment for him. In the West, coins are slabbed by either NGC or PMG (not this gen lol, just same initials). I don't know who graded and slabbed your pandas, but they have a QR code, so maybe all the grading agencies share data bases somehow? Idk, but you'll want to DYOR about slabbed coins.

As for selling slabbed coins and pandas, yes, coin shops in the US buy these. I see them at my LCS and they certainly sell. However, every store in every market is different. You should also consult eBay and the online bullion dealers to see what they would pay for such things. Sigma tests can test purity of coins through capsules and slabs, so no issues there.

Very excited to see another panda stacker here, much less one who is actually living in China. What city are you in and what do you do there?

I should also note that in the West, pandas fetch a big premium. I know they are dirt cheap in China, but over here, they go for almost 30% premiums, by far the highest premium of any government minted coin (aside from maybe Libertads). If you intend to sell pandas when you get to America, it may be a good idea to stack as many as you can now. However, you'll also need to research the laws around exporting bullion from China. A couple of the videos I linked in my last post were by a YouTuber named clearasvodka (https://www.youtube.com/@clearasvodka/videos).). He stopped uploading videos 4 years ago, but I know I watched one he did about taking gold and silver out of China. The CCP will want to see receipts and paperwork, and I think they have limits on how many you can take out at once. Again, you'll want to DYOR. Also, since you're a pandabro I'll give you a heads up, there are a handful of seething Americucks in this general who will froth at the mouth about pandas all being fake since they are from China. It's best to just ignore them, because they will respond to everything and shit up entire threads for days on end.

Picking out premium rounds or overpaying for state rounds is going to feel pretty stupid when you factor in the premium basically meant you left XX or XXX number of ounces on the table. After you have several tubes of state rounds and junk silver, I think most of your stack should be generic. If you want a special design for fun that should be minimal. At the end of the day the only thing will matter is the weight.

Some precious metal BRICS discussion going on /pol/ atm. I see some /pmg/ guys there quite a bit. I’m fudding silver and shilling gold today since people have taken to try to unironically shit on silver over gold, trying to do it in a somewhat hysterical way that seems absurd. Pretty fun. People seem super goldpilled right now though. The BRICS shit extends back to the 80s but I think we will get a real resolution within the next 20 years and if America falls on its ass silver and gold could see “retire on your stack” level prices. Remember everything is cheaper in reserve currency in 3rd world backwater like the US could be in the coming decades. My one concern is decreased industrial use of silver as a result of conflict disrupting economies and no wide spread adoption of it as a money metal. Half of silver goes to industry. If that gets fucked with too much there will be a bunch on that market at low prices. I’m only going to live another 40 years best case so I don’t have that kind of time.

I believe the people who say confiscation isn't inevitable. However, I think there's a chance of limited confiscation and no one wants to be on the few papers that are pulled out of the blindbox, you know?
More caution, more trolling, more FUD, it's a bit of a mess. I'm disappointed in people getting caught up in making long strings of posts clashing with each other.
It's /pmg/ - long term conflict resolution is for other spaces.

Grassroot goldbugs are saying that China now has the most gold holdings on the planet, over 30,000T when you look at their gold imports and the gold mined within China which never gets exported. This leads to the question why China hasn't revealed this with speculation being that it would rock the balance of the global economy that isn't in China's favour right now. This means they're are preparing to reveal their true holdings when the switch to BRICS is ready.

The US doesn't want a world that trades in gold because it's a neutral monetary instrument, it wants to maintain its global fiat status through the petrodollar. This is ending as we speak as the OPEC nations, specifically Saudi Arabia has openly said that they view China as their new biggest partner for the next half a century. Someone posted a chart that seems to indicate that.
My dad believes that while the US may have seemed to outsource a lot of stuff, it's only the supply that the general population might be able to draw on.
Meanwhile government and military have kept up self-sufficiency operations on US soil on the down low to ensure at least they have enough/aren't as dependent on other sources.
I take all these reports with a grain of salt since I'm not personally seeing the stuff move and be tested with my own eyes.

>> No.54424345

>>54424332
Yeah, I’d take that with a grain of salt since our recent conflicts have shown pretty clear deficiencies in our manufacturing base. All indicators suggest that since the end of the 20th century, most of our manufacturing has disappeared. If these self sufficiency measures do exist, then they must be very secretive.

>> No.54424366

If that were their "true" motivation, I'd expect them to push nuclear energy. I suspect it's less about finding a sustainable alternative for their nations and more about forcing the peasants to settle for less so the elite can to continue to enjoy the scarce resources. Don't be surprised when politicians and CEOs power their mansions with gas powered generators while the commoners are rationed 4 hours of solar electricity a day.

It's the same thing with the push to eat insects. While you are stuck with your McBugger and Flies combo, you can bet the elite will still be eating steak and eggs fresh from their private farms.

True but people have a habit of selling what they're not attached to.

Let's say hypothetically a true US patriot can buy Canadian leaves alot cheaper than US eagles.

If he needs money, will he sell the leaves or the Eagles (for shit-fiat)?

True stackers need to form an emotional bond with their stack to keep it long term. It can be a patriotic bond. Or an animal you really like. Or a symbol. Something you identify with. Which is a part of you.

It can be Kek (praise be unto him). Or a "newfags can't triforce" logo. Or a "Hi I'm Boxxy!" Logo Or a "Moot is a fag for selling out" logo. Whatever it is.

Get attached. Weight or numbers do not equal protection or numbers. I once sold a Swiss miss because I had litle love for Switzerland.

one of china's main historical problems that it still deals with today is decentralization. there are regional power brokers that stall the central government on everything, and occasionally get executed for corruption staged or real. it has always been this way in china, back then you had warlords and oligarchs, not as many warlords now but regional oligarchs are still a huge presence. I don't think you are getting a very good window into the country if you are saying that their government is heavily centralized. reminds me of how people constantly say chinese are used to following orders without question even though they are the people that try to overthrow whatever standing governments are there once or twice a century. everyone is an expert and says the most clueless stuff.
