The only thing that matters is having a loving family, with healthy children and a kind, loyal wife. This is your job in this life. We will perpetuate this cycle until humanity reaches singularity with machines. When humans can finally live without having to do back-breaking and mentally taxing labor just to survive. Once that singularity is achieved, we can put our minds towards space exploration, art, and inventing things we can't even dream of today. Of course, none of this will matter if we manage to wipe ourselves out first, through war, disease, pollution and famine.

Stop focusing on personal material wealth and focus more on fostering the abilities to be a great, capable and loving father/husband.
