Honest question (I realize you're short in your position): Why would you want bitcoin to go down when the currencies of the world relative to the US dollar have almost all been crushed and it's only March 30? If you live outside of the US, and your money is worth-less, wouldn't you want a stronger bitcoin bouyed up by strong US dollars? btc "failing" means people are making purchases with it, black market activity, just all sorts of fun all around. no singular reason really. if PM goes down, VKG goes up, as it's down while PM is up.

BTC isn't about all that. In the fucking beginning you didn't buy bitcoin, these anons were pooling together the way you seed a torrent and they were mining a shit ton of btc back when it was less than ten cents. you could mine with much less input (gas/fuel) and you could yield much more than you ever will today.
no it's not about hurting the poor. the poor are buying btc, the rich are buying btc, all same laws of economics apply. that hasn't changed. you weren't supposed to tell anyone you had btc, because it meant you were probably buying cheese pizza, untraceable chrome, and homemade drugs through Tor and silk road. now it's just a way for you to probably make more money without doing a damn thing. fuck that.
