These rectangular silver coins were produced by the Tokugawa shogunate at the end of the Edo Period, from 1837 to 1868. Known as "Ichibu-gin," each coin is about 96% pure silver and was stamped with the character "定" by the mint to show its authenticity.

Japanese silver coins perpetuated an economic crisis during the mid-19th century. Since Japan had previously been isolated for over 200 years, their exchange rates for precious metals had not yet caught up with the rest of the world. As a result, American traders could exchange $4 for 12 of these Ichibu-gin, then exchange those for $12 worth of gold. This exploit resulted in a huge outflow of gold from the Japanese islands.

Tokugawa coinage was introduced in 1601, to stop Japan from relying on Chinese-made bronze coins which were used for centuries earlier. Gold and silver were in short supply on the Japanese islands, which lead Japan to ban the export of bullion currency in the 1700's. In the 1800's, the scarcity of gold and silver as well as natural disasters and high government spending caused coins to become smaller and smaller over time. These coins measure 19mm by 16mm, substantially bigger than the smaller Issu-gin

Safes are good as long as you get an actual safe, meaning something that's TL rated. Most 'safes' are actually Residential Security Containers and have no real standards for security. As such they are generally very light and are the ones you could actually carry off even with a decent stack inside unless they're the huge Liberty gun safes. A small TL-15 safe will be around 500 pounds even when empty tho and are very difficult to move and also difficult to get into.

He deliberately delayed boomer. He said this himself. This isn’t something I made up. And he’s going to take his time on Crusader. He thinks that interest is down because he was putting out the rounds too fast. He thinks making us wait 6+ months is going to renew interest. I couldn’t believe it when he said this. The truth is that the pool of people that want $70 rounds is decreasing. And honesty, all the good designs have been made. Except for frensmark. But he won’t touch that one. Crusader is a nice design, but it was sort of invented for sale. Apu was created before the idea of actually making it was thought possible. Mintanon is just trying to cash in at this point. I supported him up until he broke the 3 month silence on boomer telling us it would be another 3 months. I’ve had it with him. But at this point I don’t care because what else is he going to make that I would actually want for $70?

If I had to guess I’d say $2000 is the local top and all the kings horses and men will try to keep it at or below that price. We haven’t seen a big spike for a while.

That being said, if you’re drinking the PM koolaid like I am then anytime before a fiat failure is a good time to buy. If I can put it into perspective for you: in 2012 I bought gold during the trough with my meager earnings and purchased it at $1200 an ounce for 2 Troy ounces. If I sold for spot right now I’d get a 60% profit on that gold I’m still holding. That’s over 7-8 years of holding, but that’s what you can get for buying when the price is suppressed.

Kek, based scrapfren.
Any recent ebay acquisition bro? It's been few days since your last posted cheapies (unless the $28 plate in last bread was freshly arrived?). Since i'm in absolute poorfaggotry hell rn, i plan on projection-scrapping, using you as medium lol.

Also, i may finally have found a refiner to melt down my scrap! Had to look in Belgium for that. So i better send them a big load, to justify the long road journey to go there.. twice. From what i understood, they are taking a 15% cut. From what i remember, it's about the same rate for you, right?

>> No.54372906

>>54372843
Hey buddy, that Belgian refinery sounds legit, 15% is fair and around what mine takes, depends on the price of silver they take less silver the higher spot price is. Not too much scrap of particular note lately, for example I got this batch delivered today, the far right spoon is sterling and the one next to it an early american coin silver piece, only around an ounce total tho so while reasonably priced at $9.11 total I don't usually post babby lots like it. Good luck fren, i too have a decently sized lot ending up tomorrow, so far i'm the only bidder so i'm hoping it stay like this!
Idk if they are doing the same offer in the US, but this month and up to the 10th of april, ebay gives a 70% reduction on commission fees for sellers (so 10 > 3%), it triggered a shitload of products to be listed. Among them silver, and since we are nearing the end of the offer, i feel like there is some wallet fatigue, as the items have less and less bids on them. That's a great opportunity.
I slurped 2 little silverware orders (6 and 9oz) at 11.80€/oz. I expect next week to be loaded with great deals.

Good luck with the batch ending tomorrow and keep me updated on what you learn from the belgian refinery, if you get the refining process figured out you might be able to start a more official "cash for silver" buying business locally and sell a little bullion when necessary for top premiums online to maintain cashflow.

Personally, I’d say if f you can mail order it or just pick it up and install it yourself, your safe will not help you a lot. That probably also implies for most anons that a safe that costs less than your stacks worth isn’t worth it.
Personally, I got lucky since my flat has a small safe installed already and it’s built into the (brick!) wall. So unless you bring heavy equipment, you can’t take it with you and the lock should be good enough for casual thieves. But if I didn’t have that thing, I’d probably hide my stuff somewhere.
Should I ever get my own place, I’m gonna get me a small safe and build it into the structure of the house somewhere hidden.

Unless alchemy becomes real, I don't think PMs are ever going to be a mistake to invest in.
That being said, silver might be taxed depending on where you live. I had to pay both VAT and a premium for my silver Britannias. If the premium is low enough, fractional gold seems more appealing to me.

Tax loopholes were put there in for rich people to exploit. We should also use them anon. Getting less silver for the by paying the taxmax is applied equally for everyone, so that is the new spot. It sux that mutts can get silver for cheaper, but just compare your state to your own country men.

If you were going to spend, $754, might as well gotten a kilo bar for lower premium, IDK about CGT or GST cunt, so lizzy's might be a good choice. IDK.

Anon, I wish the Jews would bring the price of silver down. It sucks big time for buying shinies.

Thankfully there’s no GST or tax on silver where I live, so only had to worry about premiums. It works out to about $30.2 per coin and that seems to be a couple of dollars cheaper than most places I’ve seen them.
>If the premium is low enough, fractional gold seems more appealing to me.
That’s what I’ve been buying since I started too, generally 1g to 5g bars alongside a few ounces of silver every few weeks. This is the first full tube I’m actually buying
>>54375968
Yeah you’re probably not wrong anon, I’m just a little biased in favour of Australian or British coins because I’m an antipodean autist who misses the idea of empire. I also just like having these coins, taking them out and clinking them every now and then satisfies the soul and makes me feel like an honorary jew

Maybe.
But to play devils advocate:
If normie ads tell you to buy, a crash is incoming and this allows the ones in power to offload their shit.

American dollars? If so that's around the price of silver Britannias in the UK even with VAT and premiums included.

I constantly hear radio ads encouraging people to sell their gold.

Sure, the advertisers want to offload their bags to the FOMO boomers but the point is gold sells like crazy and there is enough fear and doubt that doing commercials like that is profitable. I have never seen this before. Also, COMEX numbers are fake as fuck. They have nothing left.

That’s USD, but converted from AUD. Calculator may have been off though. I paid $45.24 AUD, which is $24.51 GBP per coin. Don’t know if that’s better or worse than prices over there. Should have just used AUD, but thought I’d convert it given most of 4chan are yanks.
