Just I year ago, I recall media outlets clamoring about the metaverse non-stop. Every tech company was in a race to get in on it, with Facebook going as far as to rename itself to "Meta" to signal a (very costly) pivot to this industry. Crypto bros also seemed to have an interest in it, hoping they could get people to buy their NFTs by tying them to virtual real estate. However, this hype didn't seem to really catch on with regular people. Nobody cared about Zucc's shitty ad-ridden, legless app when they already had everything they wanted in shit like VRChat. And nobody wants to rent a house from a landlord in the metaverse when they already have to pay way too much to rent a house in the real world. That said, the hype for the metaverse seems to have really plummeted recently. It seems that the media, tech companies, and crypto bros have all moved onto the new generative AI craze.

With these things in mind, does the metaverse still have any relevance in current year? Or will everyone just go back to VRChat and forget about ZuccWorlds.

It'll be like the dot com bubble in the 90s. There will be a functional metaverse, but it wont be like what we picture it now and itll be 5-10 years away.

>There will be a functional metaverse
What do you think this will be like? Will it be a fun little plaything like VRChat, or will it be a dreary place where you have to work and be subjected to ads and microtransactions non-stop? The latter is the kind of shit Zucc and crypto bros seemed to be advocating for, and it sounded like ass.
