Started working at a local bank about a week ago now. They call it a “Universal Banker” position since it’s a bit more than just a teller.

Should I stick with this for a while and maybe move up or go to school to move up into more Finance oriented positions?

I know it’s more /adv/ related, but it obviously involves banking which is why I wanted to ask /biz/ instead. Any advice you can give for the banking side of things in general or any suggestions on where to go from here?

Education is never wrong. Some day you will be too old to resettle.

Depending on the bank they may have employee programs for you to apply for look at those then make your decision.

Sounds like your working for a retail bank, depending on the size of it you may be able to just move into the other divisions like wealth management if a role opens up

if your just getting started in your career you might as well gain a few years experience then get more education to make sure if this is something you really want to do but mostly it allows you to save some money and make plans
