First of your 27 so learning a new language and going somewhere where living is cheaper and your skills etc is more desired is piss easy.
I am in a similar position, though my education background is significantly worse and I am living a very nice life.
Second of you are 27, you can just go on a different path, if you know mechanicL engineering you have a really good base to branch out from and learn something high paying in your country. You could write and submit paper und impulse drives or something and go to the street as a "rocket engineer" type quant.
