On Thursday 3/23 at 1236 am Pacific Standard Time, I purchased 5000 common shares of First Republic Bank at $12.33 for a total cost basis of $61,650. This is the largest bet of my life. I am expecting the government to offer security for uninsured equity above the $250,000 cap provided by the FDIC. This weekend, there was a leak indicating that the government was intending to do as much.
