There's no hiding it now; QE #5 is on.

for as smart as the founders were, they were actually dumb
they specified a certain amount of dollars equates to a certain amount of gold
but they didn't even need to do that, legal tender is pointless
just have a coin that says 10 grams gold, 30 grams silver, etc.
oh, the 10 grams of gold you have is from france? no problem, we'll accept it as payment and mint it into a u.s. coin later
by letting people get used to the term dollars, it opened the door to fiat

Jews ruined that idea by coin shaving...

>20 dollars
>in gold coin

I wonder what they meant by that?

>> No.54294393

they made the penalty for debasement of the currency death. This was a deliberate coup and hijacking of the continent. The United States of America as envisioned by the founders ended with 1913.

>> No.54294438

how?
purity * weight = value
shaving a coin would make it lighter
it's a lot easier to determine, hey, this coin that says 30 grams on it only weighs 28 grams
than
hey, this coin that says 20 dollars only weighs 28 grams

>> No.54294511

>>54294438
the whole point of having a coin with a face value is that it is supposed to represent a material at a particular weight so you don't have to fucking weigh everything. do you know how retarded it would be if in every transaction you had to literally weigh your fucking money? i'm a goldbug but even i know that a currency merely backed by gold and/or silver is the only non-retarded way to make this work in daily transactions

>> No.54294559

>>54294511
uh, the weight would double as the face value
the jew loves meaningless terms like dollar, franc, peso, ruble, etc.
that can literally be anything, as the words become meaningless over time
weight is far more useful

>> No.54294647

>>54294559
again, should everyone be carrying around scales? that's fucking retarded. additionally, having a currency backed by gold that is made up of much less precious material solves the issue of losing the good material through wear, loss, etc

>> No.54294662

>>54293773
They specifically said not to let banks or their equivalent term of corporations run the country or everyone is fucked.

>> No.54294692

Dude you're a literal retard.

>> No.54294716

I understand his point, though. Which is that terms like “pound”, “dollar” etc. create abstraction from the original metal.

But what he misses is that these terms all started out as literal measurements of metal in the first place. To the founding fathers it was self-evident that a dollar meant a measure of silver, ditto for pound which once meant a pound of silver.

>> No.54294742

>>54294647
you're missing the point, people wouldn't have to carry around scales if the coin said "30 grams gold" any more than they would if the coin said "20 u.s. dollars"
this is like the twilight zone episode where everyone else is gay and retarded

>> No.54294811

>>54294716
measurements of the monetary metal, but those measurements were never used for anything else
and even then, countries didn't use them the same way
canadian dollar, u.s. dollar, etc.
and yes, i'm aware of the whole ounce vs troy ounce thing
some historical stupidity you can't fix
but this is something that's easily fixed going forward

>> No.54294861

>>54294742
No you're missing the point dip shit, if you're not carrying around a scale how the fuck are you going to know that the coin I am giving you for whatever good or service is actually 20g and not 19g because I shaved the thing? USE YOUR FUCKING BRAIN

>> No.54294927

>>54294861
the same way you'd know a silver dollar was or wasn't shaved, retard
you make it sound like putting the word "dollar" on a coin solves the issue of shaving, when it literally does nothing

>> No.54294954

>>54294811
The reason why the United States adopted the dollar as their currency was to indicate that it was equivalent to the most popular coin in America at the time, the Spanish dollar.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_dollar

In a world where fiat currency was much less popular, the idea of writing THREE QUARTERS OF ONE OUNCE OF SILVER on the coin just wouldn’t have occurred to them and would have seemed autistic and redundant.

Now shut the fuck up and congratulations on having been smart enough to listen to somebody smarter than you re: owning gold.

>> No.54295052

>The reason why the United States adopted the dollar as their currency
see, even you're already falling into the verbal trap of the dollar
and saying it wouldn't have occurred to the founders is wrong, unless they just forgot about all the historical examples going back to antiquity

>> No.54295088

>>54294438
Jews were caught shaving edges off gold and silver coin to melt into gold and silver bars in Britian and were executed ,don't remember the year but it was long ago, that's why coins now have reeded edges on them so jews cant shave off grams,

>> No.54295128

>>54295088
using modern minting techniques, do you think it would be possible to combine reeded edges onto coins that specified the weight/purity of the metal

>> No.54295163

>>54294927
>the same way you'd know a silver dollar was or wasn't shaved, retard
yeah, you'd have to carry around a scale which would, again, be fucking retarded. you people are unbelievably stupid and cannot comprehend what is being said

>> No.54295192

>>54295163
no one can be this retarded

>> No.54295236

>>54295163
i mean, you're literally worried about a coin losing a few percent of material if it were shaved, which is easily seen on reeded coins
meanwhile, look at how much value has been lost (over 95%) by the government adopting the word "dollar" to mean anything
