yeah the problem is you don't make that money out of the gate, after you get your license you have to fly cargo for 5 years, then you have to fly shitty connector flights for 5 years, and then finally you might be able to land a big boy job at United, Delta, etc. but you'll start at the bottom again and you'll have to spend another 10 years flying routes that nobody else wants before your have any kind of control over your schedule

t. planned to become a pilot at the beginning of the pandemic but convinced myself that it's not worth it

Learning to fly without nepotism/diversity points means getting into $200,000 of debt with your only employment prospects being bush flying in a deathtrap hellhole for $30,000 a year.

you left out the part where you need to be a flight instructor for a few years making $20-30k/year just to maybe get into a regional airline, at which point you'll grind for several more years on $70-90k/year while somehow repaying your $100k pilot school loan @ 8% interest.

You're looking at a decade plus of shit schedules for shit pay before you make it to year one on this chart. It might get better as more old pilots retire but will still take years of flying for SkyWest or one of those other regional airlines before you make it to the big time.

you'll be flying with a tranny pilot and a female copilot judging by all the quota creep going on but crucially all the responsibility will be on you and you must banter with them to keep them awake. That is worth more than they can afford.

delusional lmao. most company otr truckers will be lucky to clear 60k and that is with all the ridiculous hours and waiting (you aren't paid and treated like a complete slave)
>while living the comfy van life
i don't think living in and out of a filthy truck stop lot that is covered in piss is comfy
