It took about a year for LINK to have it's first true pump after Mainnet went live. I anticipate that once Functions goes live (Not beta) that LINK will crab along until the next gen of Web 3 dApps launch, using new data sources to create novel projects, which in turn will finally create organic demand for the Chainlink token thus allowing us to pump independently of the the market.

Once Functions goes live, then we have CCIP, BUILD airdrops, and who knows what else to look forward to as well. For whatever reason we've been trapped in this $5 - $9 range for almost a year now, and despite multiple black swans we have not found new lows. I expect that once a new paid service goes live (Functions or CCIP) it will create the new narrative for alts to have another big run similar to DeFi summer.

In the end, LINK has no hype at all. There is hardly any retail left in crypto these days and those that remain are leverage trading BTC/ ETH or chasing moonshots.

The only thing that will make LINK increase in value is organic demand, which has not yet materialized. One thing I find odd about LINK though is the consistently high volume, breaking $500M some days. Why does a rank 21-23 alt from 2017 have more volume than some top 10 projects?
