What are they doing with pets when they can't even afford their own rent. That right there is an indicator of a personality unable to delay gratification and that is a primary characteristic of the poor and criminals. Once you get to know a few people who end up in situations like that, it becomes obvious exactly WHY they did. One stupid decision after another until they have blown all their resources, all of their family and friends give up on them and they hit the bottom. What's funny is that even in light of current economic circumstances, evictions and foreclosures are at an all time low due to the Covid moratoriums that are still in place even these many years later. My previous landlord raised our rent 40% right before a lease renewal. We tried bringing the price down but ultimately he used his 'rights as a landlord to not renew the lease'. The house has now been sitting empty for months and strangely enough dozens of people know the lock code.
