Any blockchain that sees the same level of use as the BTC blockchain will run into the same issues, in BCH's case it would be the size of the blockchain increasing too quickly, hurting decentralization (less people having an HDD/SSD with enough capacity to run a node). Layer 2 is a must, like it or not.

For dapps and an ecosystem i agree - but not for a monolthic single use payment chain that btc aims to be.
Kaspa solves the big block issue btw and is the best option out of all of them.
In theory bch and nexa could also both work but nexa is scammy af and no one will take bch seriously as there its the start of a slippery slope - just look at what happened with the creation of bsv afterwards

It's not just storage, it's also bandwidth. Imagine having to download 1gb or more than that every 10 mins. That limits who is willing and able to run a node by a lot.

>> No.54214690

I knew a few btc devs who were big blockers back in the day. They shifted over to bch for a few years but all but 1 I think went back to BTC after realizing segwit is more complicated, is technically a block size increase, but was a better compromise in the long run. I kinda wonder what the development scene is even like for bch anymore. There cant be many who think they can make enough money to live writing apps or services for bch.

No piece of software is perfect, especially from version 1.0. even when Bitcoin was released and Satoshi was still working on it he was still adding code and improving it. Software will always change and improve over time. This is something people can't get through you bsv shills thick skulls. Bsv code changes too but it becomes more shit when it does, like adding the ability for nchain to confiscate coins, taking away transaction finality.

Digital asset recovery can be made possible on BTC and BCH.

The technology does not require any addition to the current protocol. Like Bitcoin’s now-retired Alert System for the broadcasting of network messages, it is also consistent with the original Bitcoin white paper where there is a distinction between key holders and key ‘owners’, a legal term.

>> No.54215901

>>54215770
Wrong. Being able to spend coins from a wallet without the private keys, or reverse a transaction, is a hard fork. The alert system that was in use between Bitcoin 0.3.10 and 0.3.14 did not have anywhere near this capability and was only for broadcasting messages to node operators.

>> No.54215932

>>54215770
Satoshi himself said he was not a lawyer and likely did not mean anything legally by what he wrote in the white paper. It was a technical document.
