If I get more money back in 10 years (including dividends) buy buying IBM stocks for 5k $ instead of silver, then I don't buy silver.

As for BRICS, I can see trade units being developed and more highly prized than generic bullion, but that becomes more a matter of favored currency than design theme.

I had purchased a little silver for well under $20/oz somewhere in between the low and the high. then I sold most of my silver at around $45/oz close to the peak. I has no idea what I was doing at the time. just got lucky or was victim of circumstance. but i remember it all very well.

so now, I'm just watching and waiting for whatever clues or signals arise to tell me the right time to buy or sell. Now considering inflation. However, at 800$+ per kilo a 260ish$ 10ozer is a nice alternative. Considering I have a nice stack of 10’s to begin with it seems like enough validation to dance between tubes of pretty and divisible coins and nice and hefty 10 oz bars.

10 oz bars have great designs as well. Kilos have a terrible problem with every mint devolving into loafs of barely different designs. However, if you want to spend extra on artistic designs like the kilo South Korean doggaebi it is absolutely beautiful. First piece I ever got.

Part of its a hobby, but its also my full time job in the summer. Less commonly, there are reasons other than the acquisition of sheer mass for some (myself included). I go for the designs and art, and prefer coins for the numismatic influence accelerating appreciation.
Not to say kilo coins are out of the running, but I can't afford as many and as they usually have the same design as the smaller rounds, I find 1ozt to be a good compromise all around.
