Because Lightning network is centralized as fuck.
Large comapnies will get to create the cannels and collect fees when you use their channel.

You have to open a channel with a minimum amount of bitcoin that stays in there kindof like a pool, so those with small amount are priced out.

The current situation of Bitcoin staying as it is is much worse than Cash taking over.
Fees are skyrocketing, transactions take forever and bitcoin core barely did anything about it.
If crypto wants to become somewhat mainstream, you can't have the main currency have such huge flaws.
