I'm thinking about just ditching my lease to a foreign country and not answering any of the landlords inquiries or attempts to get me to pay. Big renting conglomerate

How screwed or not screwed am I? Guessing I should just open a foreign bank account but I don't want my wages garnished. Other places on the internet are just full of boomer advice and slave morality garbage

Just fucking tell them you’re leaving and that you can help them find a replacement tenant in a month. Unless you’re really that autistic you can just confront the leasing office about it and they should be willing to work with you

They can probably garnish your income if it’s an American company but I’m not positive. You probably need genuine legal advice and in that case you’ll end up losing money and wasting time in court anyway. Or ask ChatGPT
