yes, but actually no. basically, by bailing out banks (again) JPow has now accelerated inflation which is going to of course destabilize the already unstable economy. short term bull run, long term hyperinflation. that is, if JPow decides to do a 25 point hike or a pause. if he sticks with a 50 point hike, we might not get hurt as bad.

Using securities instead of bank deposits for your savings? Yes, that's viable.

Arguably, a conservative money-market fund is as safe as, or safer than, a bank account. "But a bank account is insured by the FDIC and an MMF isn't!" True, but an MMF has less need for insurance because it holds the underlying securities and you, a shareholder, own the fund.

A bank account needs insurance because the interest on your savings is funded by the business's operations, which can lose money. A bank doesn't set aside income-generating securities exclusively for your savings account and grant you ownership of them.

No they matter. Banks still have to hand out loans. If people begin to hold less money in banks it means banks become limited in the amount of loans they can hand out. Compound this with increasing inflation and higher pressure to protect money. Also now the banks are beholden to the government who has the entire banking system by the balls for the first time in a long fucking time and the FED now has 0 impetus to lower rates allowing them to punish the banks even more.

It doesn't matter how much liquidity the FED injects if people can't use it then it doesn't matter.

So, what’s the end game here? The Fed owns all the banks and inflates forever? Where the fuck is the off-ramp if they don’t let insolvent banks fail?

>> No.54167502

Wrong. Deposits would increase as more cash enters the system. People would borrow at higher rates as inflation becomes persistent and those rates start to feel more normalized.
Positive spreads return, and the legacy losses are slowly left in the past.

Bobo: I've got Crabin fever!
Mumu: I've got it too!

CRABIN FEVER!

I got crabin fever it's burning in my brain
I've got crabin fever it's driving me insane
We got crabin fever; we're flipping our bandanas
Been stuck at this channel so long we have simply gone bananas

Ariba!
Chica chica boom
A chica chica boom boom chic
Chica chica boom
A chica chica boom boom chic

We got crabin fever we've lost what sense we had
We got crabin fever; we're all going mad

Grab your partner by the ears
Lash him to the wheel
Do-si-do step on his toe
Listen to him squeal
Allemande left, allemande right
It's time to sail or sink
Swing your partner over the side
Drop him in the drink

We got crabin fever
No ifs, ands or buts
We're disoriented
And demented
And a little nuts

Ach du lieber Volkswagen car
(Yodel-lay-ee-hoo)
Sauerbraten, wienerschnitzel
Und wunderbar
(Yodel-lay-ee-hoo)

We were trading, trading the momentum was on our side
And then it died

I've got crabin fever
I think I've lost my grip
I'd like to get my hands on
Whoever wrote this script
Si!

I was floating 'neath a tropic moon
And dreaming of a my anime waifu
Now I'm crazy as a loon

Crabin fever has ravaged all aboard
This once proud market has become a jewish psycho ward
We were buying, selling headed who knows where
And now though we're all here
We're not all there

Crabin fever!
AAHHH!!

The FED can't if they continue to fuck up with their interest adjustments the next step will be people wondering if we need a FED at all. The FED HAS to continue rate hikes hell QE and increasing inflation in a really fucky way actually makes it so they can go higher longer which the system DESPERATELY needs to flush it out.

>>54168324
Basically the money printed to bail out the bank is such a tiny drop in the pail that the FED can QE and hike rates to fight inflation. It also takes Jewish pressure off of them to cut rates because let me tell ya deez rate hikes are like anudda shoah I tell ya. We might need to add anudda Yom Kippur for dis one. So if inflation pops a little bit it let's the FED do their job instead of having to deal with a bunch of Jews crashing the banks just for some low interest.

I think they will and wanted to but couldn't pull it off right now with a bunch of other countries screeching about hyperinflation and the death of the dollar while trying to get first mover advantage with their own new commodity backed currency standards. They'll have to do something soon though, there's several states with bills in their respective houses to make precious metals a viable form of currency again and I really don't think the federal reserve trying to seize all the gold again is going to go over any better than a lead zeppelin.

I don't know why Reddit is mad, but here's why I'm mad.
1. Moral hazard. There's no need for banks to "do the right thing" and be careful with risk in the future if they know they'll just be bailed out next time. Make risky bets. Win? Score. Lose? Get bailed out.
2. Inflation. The money to save these banks has to come from somewhere and it's not coming from santa clause or the tooth fairy. We will all end up paying for it via inflation.
3. Unfairness. I have intermediate duration bond funds as a part of my portfolio and they're down 12.5% percent across 2021 and 2022. Am I going to get that 12.5% back like the banks are? Or do I have to wait out the 6 years for the fund to recover? What about all the other mom and pops in my situation?

They're all set to either go to literally nothing by end of year or run hard. Any moron with a chart that can draw a line can see it, was the entire reason I threw five grand at the cheapest one. Either I lose less than I've lost on calls in a single day or I get to buy a boat.

25bps is almost certain IMO. I would be shocked if they paused (despite the futures). It would be incredibly irresponsible. But if they went with 50 it would shock the market and they are huge pussies who wouldn't dare do that.
