The AI posters have truly exposed the idiocy of 4chan and the majority of the population fully, especially in /g/. Most people know literally 0 about AI and constantly say, "ITS GOING TO KILL EVERYONE!! ITS GOING TO BECOME SENTIENT!! LOOK I THINK IT JUST PROVED P != NP" when they dont understand literally anything about how they work. I bet if you asked them what a loss function was they would shit their pants and run to google. Take a fucking AI bootcamp or something and use that useless CS degree you got from community college for something a bit more challenging than arguing about which package manager to use and being a python code monkey.
Outside of /g/ though I have found the AI posting to be fine, especially at /biz/ because rather than pretending to know what they are talking about people take things at face value and attempt to leverage the capabilities of the models or profit off them rather than piss their pants about ethics or brag about how cool they think they are for 'jailbreaking'. At least the people here don't pretend to know what they are talking about.

An unanswered math problem. Basically, are there some problems where the only answer is via brute force (ex. what is the shortest loop between a set of dots) or can you if the answer is solved in a non-brute force way. Basically we wouldn't have incryption and we are fucked.

Couldn't an AI that breaks any wncryption make an AI proof encryption (since it would know it's own limitations). I feel just like with any technological advance it wouldn't be a game ender but a game changer (99.999% of cryptos would be worth shit except maybe quantum ones maybe, but that was already the case even before chat gpt)
