Frankly, you're probably right. SI, SIVB, and SBNY blowups are not really comparable to the other banks.
SVB attracted big accounts, far larger than the 250K insured by the FDIC, making it vulnerable to a classic bank run. It didn't really have any expertise in putting that money to work. Other banks are much different than SVB

I still stand by my statement that Deutsche Bank is full of fucktards. Every single person working on Wall Street knows how fucking stupid DB is. They underwrite the most flaming dogshit out there

The more I look at these regional banks, the more bullish I get.
>decade high rates
>massive loan leverage to mcap or tangible book
>rate cuts imminent

Typically a bank will be running 10x leverage or so relative to book value. Now that book values have cratered and the stock prices have declined, you're looking at 20-30x leverage on these things. Some are completely underwater - avoid those obviously.
Previously, I was kind of nervous because theoretically the yields are high right now, but on the other hand they had all those old loans locked in at trash prices compared to today's yields. Now those fears have finally been realized, the repricing has happened and all that remains is upside. You're effectively getting 15-20% yield holding these stocks now.
Once the FFR gets cut back to 0%, savers will have no reason to flee into t-bills any longer. Meanwhile, longterm treasurys are high and we've reached the conclusion of that whole ZIRP belief period where people thought rates would never trade positive again. It's unlikely 10y treasurys collapse back down to 1-2% level. Since banks arbitrage this spread between short and long term rates, this is very bullish.

If you're too lazy to lookup specific names to slurp, you can't go wrong with KRE. Thoughts?

You do realize that less than 1% of attorneys make it to Big Law. And for those who don't, but are still from good schools, they end up having shit-tier work-life balance as well.

Basically my point is that run of the mill podunk lawyers at your local trust law firm for Bricklayers Union 9001 still has shit work-life balance like BL attorneys, but less pay.

The most i've ever enjoyed working for a law firm was when I was working in Patent Prosecution. That was all full of cozy STEMfags, not dogshit retarded white people with no quantitative skills or ability to do semantic parsing.

The difference is what the YoY salary/bonus increases for associates and the average revenue per equity partner.

The point of working with a regional is that you matter to them. They're right there, with a real branch and actual human beings, whereas with the megacorp you get to call the tech support guy in Colombia and hope he can work through your problems.
My own experience using credit cards with most of the major banks tells me this tech advantage is not what you make it out to be. In theory they should be able to run a better tech suite, but in reality outside Chase they're all shit. They just cheap out to save money.

Rising oil prices contributed to the last 40 years of recessions. It has also contributed to stock market peaks that resulted in bear markets. 73, 87, 94, 00, 08. The bottom line is that you should go talk to a local patent lawyer about the non-provisional phase for patent prosecution. The non-provisional phase is where the "ball gets rolling" and things get serious. That is where patent attorneys become very important.

And absolutely not problem, good luck to you and your buddy who are developing some product. Hopefully it gets commercialized and you can remember that some autistic brown guy on /smg/ gave you some pointers for getting the ball rolling on your patent.

Commercialization is key

The big issue was that SVB was UNHEDGED against said duration risk. SVB had unhedged exposure to interest rate risk - typically a major insurance company or any kind of bond portfolio manager will purchase interest rate swaps to transfer away any interest rate sensitivities in their portfolio. A lot of /smg/ and other finance armchair kibitzers are bemoaning the lack of IR swaps, but the treasuries probably had close to a 1% coupon, which wouldn’t have paid for the swaps at all.

Most of these online scores you see use fake alternative calculation methods that make them look higher.
Still, it's pretty easy to get a high score if you just keep your payments at a minimum, keep a large total credit line, and have a history of zero late payments. Ideally one or two credit cards are kept open for a long time too, so that your average credit age stays high.

Some bad advice will tell you to run a balance to up your credit score. Never do this.

I assume they're partnered with a payday loan company and are told to say this, so it tanks their credit and makes them lean into their usurious scams
Debt consolidation can be tricky too - if you have two cards with a $5,000 limit and $1,000 on each, you've used up 20% of your balance, no biggie.
But if you consolidate the debt onto one and close the other, you've suddenly used up 40% of your balance and that looks bad

When I say fed ballgags, i don't mean the cool fed ballgags people on 4chan think of when they think of glowies. I'm talking about boring commercialization-related ballgags from USDA and FDA for stupid fucking apples lol. I mean i was in Idaho, I was helping patent a lot of agro stuff.

>Also I remember AAPL arguing over a patent in court c. 2010, t
That is called "patent litigation" not patent prosuection.

Patent prosecution = boring as fuck USPTO filing procedures that take years. cozy, but boring. you deal with turbo boomer USPTO people and fed funding agencies (even more turbo boomer) like NIH, USDA, DOT, DOE, etc

Patent litigation = sexy, exciting court cases involving companies arguing over prior art / IP moat , which is where AAPL absolutely fucking slaughters everyone

I want to point out that while we can hate on AAPL for being a soulless megacorp, AAPL's patent litigators are badasses for pulling off some of their IP protection dispute victories

Okay, so maybe it's not going down as fast as SPY, and that's just great. But my cash is going down 0% (pre-inflation). The divvies don't make up for that, I kind of wish I'd kept sitting on dry powder. Obviously there's benefit to having market exposure in case this fraud of a market keeps poomping on retard energy, but my plan was really to preserve cash for the ultimate slurp. I'm starting to feel like some homeless schizo, hoping for a crash that never comes.

reddit liked my video about reddit.

I was just fucking spamming.

> Apparently there are a bunch of people from the DoE and the like that work at the patent office doing review. If it gets flagged, they send it over to national lab type people for confirmation and then call the FBI or DIA for a background investigation into the filer.
Lol that sounds like something the DoE is specifically asked to do.

DoD, DoE, etc funded patent applications and patent disclosures have to go through several rounds of fed funding agency checkups. It explains why patent proseuction can take so long - you're relying on federal agency scientist to manually review your invention

Ya never ran a balance am 27 opened a credit card at 18. I simply pay off my bills with the credit card and make sure I always have gas in the tank to kill it every month. Have a line of credit I've never touched and just keep accepting the increases for both. At like 55k maximum credit limit between the accounts
