i got tipped from someone in my discord who has an actual cianigger/fed friend and wells fargo is FUCKed
she was lucky enough to get some cheap puts weeks in advance before but she still has some more long dated puts so obviously the real pain has yet to come.
honestly never liked wells fargo it was one of the main banks giving out vampiric loans destroying middle class america the fact it still exists today while lehman and brothers is gone says alot about how fucked up this country is.

Or they are being proactive to get capital now so they can raise CD rates to keep deposits. I would expect CDs to jump as banks, particularly smaller ones, try to keep deposits.

Funny enough, I always thought inflation would eventually cause a recession /fuck up because over leveraged corporates would be unable to roll over debt the way they had been. That at high yields would suck money out of stocks and cause panic/reduce funding opportunities.

I didn't really think of banks getting caught with low yield, long term securities because that seems easier to avoid.

Or if that was the case, I figured the $400 trillion or whatever the fuck it is now interest rates swap market counterparty risk would end up being the thing that did it. There are so many criss crossing hedges on these bonds. IDK why banks weren't properly insured if they were holding that much LTD.
