same concept just reverse. and selling puts technically does not carry infinite risk like selling calls like you were saying. You should never sell puts naked, nor should you sell cash secured puts on stocks you wouldnt mind holding over the long term- for everything else, you need to buy cheaper puts as a safety protection at a strike below your short strike. I’m sorry I just really need to vent about this because it’s been bugging me for a while. I can't help but feel a twinge of annoyance as I hear one of my colleagues refer to me as a "beaner." It's a term that's thrown around here on the trading floor, a not-so-subtle jab at the fact that I'm a trader in the bean commodities.I try not to let it bother me, but it's hard not to feel frustrated at times. I've worked hard to get where I am today, studying finance in college and putting in long hours to learn the ins and outs of the trading industry. And yet, all I seem to be known for around here is my association with beans. I know that it's just a silly nickname, and I try to brush it off as best I can. But it's a reminder of how easy it is for people to make assumptions and stereotypes based on something as simple as the type of commodity you trade. Sometimes I wonder if I would be taken more seriously if I traded in something like oil or gold. But then again, maybe not. In the end, it's all just numbers on a screen, no matter what commodity you're dealing with.

As I sit here, watching the price of beans tick up and down, I can't help but wonder if there will ever come a day when I'm known for something more than just my association with this particular commodity. Maybe one day, I'll be able to use my skills and knowledge for something truly meaningful, something that goes beyond just making a profit. But for now, I'll keep monitoring the price of beans down to the tenth of a penny, trying to stay ahead of the competition, and ignoring the nicknames and stereotypes that come with my job.

They call them "Niggies," a play on the offensive racial slur, simply because of where they're from. It's a common scam that's been around for years, but they seem to think it's hilarious to keep bringing it up. I know that my colleagues mean no harm, but it's a reminder of how easily people can be swayed by false information and stereotypes. Yeah, but they aren't geared towards trading or active investments. I agree they are good for long term buy and hold, particularly for vanguard's own fund selection (although they are losing some of the edge/monopoly there). Putting in orders is just a bit more effort, cost, and slower to execute compared to say Fidelity, and gets worse the more exotic the product is. I also don't think they have much in the way of research tools.
