Redpill me on store credit cards. I'm looking at one for a particular store mainly because I go there a few times a week and make small purchases ($15-$60) a piece usually. My good goy score is probably shot. If I was to break up a big purchase say $300-$400 dollars over 3 or 4 payments would this be a good idea? The APR is a whopping 30% but I plan on avoiding that by backing purchases up with money I actually have. (small purchases as mentioned above). What if I wanted to buy one item in particular, pay it off as soon as possible then immediately close the account?

I only use store credit cards for long term 1-3 yr 0 % financing. If you use it for regular purchases and you want to build
Credit just get a secure card.

What's a secure card? And is there any particular reason you shy away from short term financing (what I'd consider to pay something off within a month or two at most)?
