This remains the best undiscussed portfolio on /biz/
I decided not to buy any more VIRT on the open
I think it's fine as is for the time being

I'm basically all in cash and once the bitcuckastrophe has run its course I'll try to start buying dips
In the meantime I'll try single stock trading VIRT and allocating components
But the point about the infinite money is that I'm living on ~1.5MM USD in other accounts that are also all in cash for now
I have an inexpensive paid off condo so my expenditures are low
So as long as I segregate this part of my money and trade it in the way I said, there's no plausible scenario where I'd lose any serious amount of money pretty much ever
Especially since the fed looks like it will be able to get inflation under control

All the stuff on the page that has cost basis and wash sale kind of info is just accounting stuff on Fidelity's side
I usually keep track of my cost basis info myself separately since it only takes a really simple excel spreadsheet in most cases
The wash sales are not really relevant, they just mean I pay slightly more in taxes this year than otherwise, more or less

I picked VIRT though
What's wrong with VIRT

>> No.54091321

And why exactly do you think VIRT will go up continuously for no reason?

Nothing like that was mentioned in any of my posts
It's really modern as a publicly traded HFT firm though so it's extremely unlikely to go under
So there's that at least

so explain it to me like i’m a retard. why is this your single stock portfolio as opposed to anything else? what makes it so good yet is “underappreciated”

I said undiscussed not underappreciated
This is pretty much the first time I've had anyone talk about it with me this year
I only just posted it a few days ago
This previous post has my explanation of the idea of the portfolio

In any case I'm pretty sure at least that VIRT is at an attractive price to buy some reasonable amount

SH can be used to set your equities allocation to almost anything pretty easily and cost effectively I think
